Waaaaaah. That local Malaysian celebrity named Neelofa was just presented a Volkswagen Passat R-Line after winning the coveted ‘Most Popular Artiste’ category at the 29 th Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPBH) - the 29th Berita Harian Popular Star Awards (Berita Harian is a Malay language newspaper). Volkswagen was the automotive sponsor of the awards. Get popular, win a car. Seems to be a simple enough thing to do.
Anyway.... since we are an automotive blog, let's move on to the details of the car and not dwell on Neelofa's good fortune, acting prowess or her tudung/headcover/hijab selling skills (she seems pretty good at doing syariah compliant headgear). Neelofa’s new Volkswagen Passat R-Line Special comes with unique R-Line fittings, such as front and rear bumper, pedal caps, a black front grille, black rear spoiler, black Volkswagen and Passat emblems, and exhaust covers.
Volkswagen says that this is the only one of a kind official from Volkswagen Malaysia Passat R-Line here in Malaysia. It looks something like the pics below but without the larger wheels you see here and with the black out grille and logos instead of the chrome grille and logo you see below:
At the same presentation event, the lucky winner of the ABPBH Vote and Win contest is 25-year old Muhammad Zulhilmi Yusof from Kelantan. The chap is now the proud owner of the new Volkswagen Vento 1.2 TSI Highline.
The prize handover ceremony was held at Volkswagen Sri Hartamas 3S Centre and this was followed by a meet-and- greet session by Neelofa to invited Volkswagen owners, guests and fans.

KUALA LUMPUR, 27 July 2016 – Volkswagen Malaysia today hosted
the car presentation ceremony to the grand prize winners of the 29 th
Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPBH). As the automotive
sponsor of the award, Volkswagen Malaysia presented the Passat for the
‘Most Popular Artiste’ category, and the new Vento for the winner of the
ABPBH Vote and Win Contest.
Local celebrity Neelofa won the coveted ‘Most Popular Artiste’ category
and received a Volkswagen Passat R-Line Special, the only one of its
kind here in Malaysia.
“I’m very grateful and humbled by all my fans who voted for me and for
their endless support. It means the world to me. And I’m also very happy
with winning this very special Volkswagen Passat. This is my first
Volkswagen and I can’t wait to start driving it around and find out what it
is capable of,” said Neelofa.
