Ferrari reveals the La Ferrari in roadster or open top form - Official name will be revealed at the upcoming 2016 Paris Motor Show

Ferrari has revealed to us the first photographs of the newest version of the limited edition La Ferrari. Its name has not been officially revealed as yet but rumours are going around that the 'Aperta' moniker will be used like the Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta open top and the limited edition 599 SA Aperta.
'Aperta' means 'open' in Italian. And this makes a lot of sense that the newest open top La Ferrari be called the La Ferrari Aperta. In plain ol' English, this Ferrari will be called The Ferrari Open. Definitely better sounding in Italian yes?

The La Ferrari has a 6.3liter v12 engine coupled with an electric motor and this combination generates a total of 950bhp and 90Nm torque. 0-100kmh in under 3 seconds easily and speed of around 349kmh just like the hardtop version should be achievable.

Now only a lucky few will get to experience the same magic with no roof in sight and the wind in your hair feeling as the thing is that the order books for this 'Aperta' version has already been filled.  In other words, the car is already sold out before its official launch.

There were 499 units of the hard top built. If Ferrari built another 499 of this then you're looking at a select few lucky people who have to opportunity to buy and drive this car globally.

The new limited-edition special series to be unveiled at the Paris Show

Order book closes after client preview

Maranello, 5 July 2016 – These are the first photographs of the open-top version of the LaFerrari, the new limited-edition special series aimed at clients and collectors who refuse to compromise on the joy of al fresco driving even when at the wheel of a supercar.

The name and technical characteristics of the new car will be announced at the Paris International Motor Show, as will the number of examples Ferrari will build. However, all available examples have already been sold after a special preview to clients and the order book is closed.

The new limited-edition special series will be available with a removable carbon-fibre hard top and a removable soft top. It has the same running gear and performance figures as the original LaFerrari, sporting a 800 cv V12 (with a specific power output of 128 cv/l) coupled with a 120 kW electric motor (163 cv),  unleashing 963 cv in total.

Significant and extensive modifications have been made to the chassis with the aim of retaining the same torsional rigidity and beam stiffness as the coupĂ© version. The car’s aerodynamics have also been further honed to guarantee the same drag coefficient when driving in the open configuration.
