New non-turbo Proton S70 sedan to be launched - estimated pricing to be under RM60,000! Good news to those that want a C segment sedan at a lower than usual price

What this 2027 Proton S70 non-turbo is basically the iGT 1.5liter engine you see in the latest, and greatest Proton Saga. The top spec Saga gets this 1.5liter normally aspirated engine and a CVT gearbox powering its front wheels. This engine is the same Geely based turbocharged 1.5liter engine you see in all of Proton's cars like the X50, X70, S70 etc. but is has its turbocharger removed. What this does is allow for a more basic engine, with more basic performance figures for those that want what is essentially TRANSPORT. This will not kill contis on a daily basis but transport you and your family in relative comfort.

CARSOME is now an Official Trade-in Partner of Suzuki Cars Malaysia & Other Suzuki offers
Suzuki Cars Malaysia has appointed CARSOME Malaysia as its exclusive official trade-in partner. The new partnership integrates CARSOME's vehicle inspection, valuation and trade-in capabilities across Suzuki's authorised dealership network, allowing customers to trade in vehicles of any make or model as part of their new Suzuki purchase. So you can now buy a new Suzuki and trade-in any car for that new Suzuki under one roof.
This arrangement by Suzuki and CARSOME removes the need to separately sell an existing vehicle before purchasing a new one. It makes it easier to sell and buy a new car. This, according to the parties herein, states that car trade-ins, is one of the biggest friction points in the car ownership journey while giving customers greater confidence through transparent, data-backed vehicle valuations.

Dunlop Tyres reintroduces the brand in Malaysia - Stronger dealer network, more range of tyres and investment of products in store for the future
Yesterday, I attended a press conference organised by Dunlop tyres. The very old brand, with over a century of existence, is strengthening its long-term presence in Malaysia by announcing its expanding dealer network, a broader range of tyre variants for all types of passenger vehicles and continued investment in products designed to meet the changing needs of Malaysian motorists. They are essentially reminding us of a brand which was once a staple choice of Malaysians from a while ago.
Over the past year or so, Dunlop has expanded its nationwide dealer network by more than 30%, growing from approximately 150 to over 200 outlets since May 2026. The expansion reflects growing confidence among dealers and automotive service partners who have decided to partner with them as the brand strengthens its nationwide reach. This builds on Dunlop's long-standing presence in Malaysia over the decades.

Perodua drops the price of their first ever Battery Electric Vehicle - The QV-E hatchback is now cheaper due to more localisation of parts
Perodua has announced that their first ever Battery Electric Vehicle, the Perodua QV-E will be priced lower. This is because the manufacturer together with its local partners have managed a major uptick in locally produced parts resulting in better efficiency to its first BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle). “The new price for the QV-E will be RM93,999 to own outright or RM69,999 plus a monthly RM215 (with tax) Battery as a Service (BAAS) package (for 9 years). Good news as previously, the total package was over RM100,000. And knowing Malaysians, everyone balked at such prices.
