Site Update & New Video: Proton X50 SUV Autonomous Emergency Braking System Demonstration and Our YouTube Channel Has Now Over 7,000 Subs. Thank You!!!

New video on our YouTube Chanel folks. Actually this was released mid last week but I actually forgot to update this over here. It was updated on our Facebook page but I somehow forgot to update it over here in the Motoring Malaysia Blog. The video is another one on the 2020-2021 Proton X50 Compact SUV where the Autonomous Emergency Braking System was demonstrated at the second media preview held just before the launch of this now popular vehicle.

Do take a look at it if you have the time and also do subscribe. You can see that we ask the driver who demonstrated the Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system to us quite a lot of questions. I don't come to any big conclusions here as I prefer that you readers, and viewers come to your own conclusions in terms of how the system works in the new Proton X50 SUV.

The AEB system works, but as I stated in the video, you shouldn't put your life in its hands 100%. It will mitigate any chance of an accident by braking for you if you are not paying attention as it does work well most of the time. But as I said, it will stop in an emergency situation but it may not, say, once in a hundred times or so. It is however, darn good that a car which is selling for around RM100k.

There are also many other videos on the X50 here on Motoring Malaysia, especially on the YouTube channel, which incidentally has managed to garner over 7,000 subscribers. Thank you to those who have subscribed as it does help the blog and channel (actually me alone really) to keep on coming up with content and news bits with our own twist or opinions on the automotive industry here in Malaysia.

You guys must be aware that Motoring Malaysia is basically self funded most of the time and I have almost never solicited for advertising for this publication. The subscribers and viewers from this blog, its Facebook page, Twitter page and YouTube are all organic in nature as I have never forced, paid or coerced anyone to do so. Motoring Malaysia as a whole is an ongoing experiment to see how can an almost independent publication get as good numbers as possible.

If there are advertising, or paid content, it will CLEARLY BE STATED here and on the YouTube Channel (as YouTube also states that we must come clean in terms of content as they do advertise on creators channels on behalf). So yes, while I do accept paid content, it does not pay the bills here almost most of the time. It does help, but I don't go out of the way as I am lucky to be able to pay most of this (and the tons of equipment) by myself.

So yes, help the channel and Motoring Malaysia out by subscribing to the site! And do watch the video above.

And to those that have been following us, Thank you.
