It looks like the landscape for Volkswagen dealerships have changed slightly again. Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) have announced that effective 2nd December 2019, Volkswagen Sg. Besi will be operated by a new dealer partner, GVE Asia Group. The new dealer has taken over the dealership from Wearnes Automotive Malaysia.
GVE Asia Group is an established automotive trading company that is an independent (grey or private) importer of luxury and premium passenger marques in Malaysia. Its business operations comprise of used car dealerships, sales and aftersales of the cars they bring in, and other automotive related services including an autospa for car detailing. This is GVE Asia’s first time as a Volkswagen dealer.
As regards to Wearnes Automotive, Erik Winter, Managing Director of VPCM had also expressed Volkswagen’s appreciation to Wearnes Automotive for its 11 years of support.
He said, “We thank Wearnes for being part of the Volkswagen family. We’ve seen many years of growth, and their service to the brand has been invaluable. At the same time, it gives me great pleasure to welcome GVE Asia Group into the network. I look forward to a fruitful partnership as we continue to build the Volkswagen brand together and to meet the needs of our customers.”
Wearnes had been with Volkswagen for over a decade. They currently operate BMW and MINI centres in Johor Bahru and are also the sole distributors for Aston Martin and Bentley here in Malaysia. It seems that the long established automotive group are streamlining their operations to cater for a more premium lineup here and most likely to play with their strengths as well as taking account the current state of the Malaysian automotive scene.
As for GVE Asia, we hope that they will maintain the level of standards over at Volkswagen Sg Besi. From what we have heard over the years, Volkswagen Sg Besi has the most consistent levels of sales and aftersales customer experience. We hope this doesn't change
Volkswagen Sg. Besi is a fully fledged 3S (sales, service and spares) dealership that caters to the complete needs of Volkswagen owners. It is over 75,181sqft in area space and has two floors. The
spacious showroom fits up to nine display vehicles and the after sales facilities are in accordance to Volkswagen’s global standards. Customers can utilise a modern waiting lounge complete with cable TV, Wi-Fi and cafe.
