Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) having its first-of-its-kind Instagram-exclusive sale for one day only (24 hours), 12 units of the Volkswagen Polo Hatchback with the JOIN accessories package and 12 units of the iconic Volkswagen Beetle with free spoiler and VW Tint. Both will be sold on Volkswagen Malaysia’s Instagram shop (@volkswagenmalaysia) at a special discount of RM12,000. This is quite a lot, yes?
This unique Instagram shop promo is the first time an automotive brand is selling cars on its social media platform in Malaysia. We have never heard of any manufacturer selling via Instagram here yet. So how do you go about it you may ask?
You need to place a booking fee of RM500 for the Polo or RM1,000 for the Beetle on the payment platform via credit card. Once processed, customers will receive a call from a Volkswagen representative for arrangements on their preferred dealership and to complete the registration and delivery of the vehicle. This is actually quite similar to their previous sales promotions via the Lazada Malaysia website. Now its Instagram. Wonder if Facebook will be next.
Erik Winter, Managing Director of VPCM has stated that he believes that purchasing a car online is now the new norm with the rise of e-commerce platforms. He said, “Volkswagen Malaysia were pioneers in this when we partnered with Lazada to sell the special edition Beetle and Polo during their 12.12 sale the past two years. Both editions sold out almost immediately, and this year, we continue our trailblazing streak as the very first automotive brand in the country to sell products on Instagram. We look forward to making history.”
The Instagram Shop sale at @volkswagenmalaysia will start off at 12:01am and end at 11:59pm this coming 12 th December 2019. This is tomorrow folks.
Do also note that the 12 units of the Volkswagen Beetle is part of the final batch of Beetles still available in Malaysia. Once these are sold, there will be no Beetles any more as Volkswagen has stopped production of the iconic car (for now).

Currently, all Volkswagen models sold in Malaysia via authorised dealers will come with 3-years free maintenance, 5-years manufacturer’s warranty and 5-years roadside assistance.
