PRESS RELEASE
Volvo Trucks’ Flagship Dealership in Port Klang Now Opens For Business!

New and prominent flagship dealership is now ready to serve customers through a

comprehensive suite of modern and automated facilities; proved to be another testament of

Volvo’s continuous effort in network expansion in Malaysia

Port Klang, 3 December 2015 – Volvo Trucks, which operates under Volvo Malaysia, today

announced that its flagship dealership in Port Klang, which is also the largest one so far

among its 12 dealerships across Malaysia, is now opened for business and ready to serve

customers in this high volume and important location.

The new flagship Port Klang dealership is the latest phase of Volvo’s expansion plan

undertaken since 2013 as part of a strategic implementation of its Network Strategy Plan that

was aimed at raising the bar in retail excellence. Volvo aims to establish dealer coverage by

reducing the average travel distance between each of its dealer point to within 3 hours, while

providing a better facility in improving productivity, service quality and customer

satisfaction.

Mats Nilsson, Managing Director of Volvo Malaysia said “As one of the most important

commercial vehicle brands globally, Volvo Trucks has enjoyed terrific growths of close to

five decades of operating in Malaysia. The opening of business at our Port Klang flagship

marks the pinnacle of our network expansion strategy. It not only further fortifies the Volvo

brand in this market, but also demonstrates our commitment and continued capabilities based

on global standards to all our customers in Malaysia. This dealership will also support

customers of Volvo Buses. As such, we are very pleased to have this opportunity to continue

our track record of success and strengthen our relationship with our stakeholders.”

The prominent dealership is built with modern workshop design and constructed columns for

double bays, allowing for easier drive-in and out for the trucks which come in for service or

repair. It has 20 workstations at the space area of 10 double bays and is able to accommodate

service and repair work for up to 24 trucks a day.

As Volvo’s largest dealership in the country to-date, the location offers ample parking space

for trucks, good traffic flow, efficient workshop layout and modern workshop equipment.

The flagship dealer is equipped with an overhead crane, brake tester and smoke tester.

The workshop area is also equipped with computer system to facilitate mechanic clocking and

reference to IMPACT system, which support the mechanics in search of part number for

specific chassis and repair manual.

Nilsson further said, “The location of our Port Klang flagship dealership is very strategic as it

is located along the main transport flow. There is a population of at least 2,000 trucks in the

Port Klang area and we are sitting at the heart of it. Many of our customers are here or have

logistics activities in this area, thus this dealership definitely enhances our reach and

readiness to service them whenever they need us.”

In conjunction with the opening, four After Market promotions are up for grabs. They include

Preventive Check Campaign, Genuine Service with Genuine Parts Promotion, Volvo Drive

Belts Promotion and Volvo Brake Pad and Lining Promotion. The highlight of the day is the

50% off Volvo Genuine Parts voucher which will be given out with every purchase of a

Preventive Check package.

Volvo Trucks always strive to provide quality aftermarket services for the vehicles that come

in but we also emphasise on the people thus the facility is also designed with truck drivers in

mind. Amenities such as overnight facility which is equipped with shower and prayer room,

complimentary food and beverages, and driver lounge are available to ensure that the drivers

get their rest and comfort before hitting the road again.
