The W223 Mercedes-Benz S-class Debuts in Malaysia - The S580e Plugin Hybrid Offered

The new W223 S-class has made its Malaysian debut. This is an evolution of the already innovative W222 model and adds even more connectivity, interior space and safety. Malaysia gets a locally assembled long wheelbase Mercedes-Benz S 580 e new generation of plug-in hybrid that offers customers the best of both worlds where it can be driven on battery power alone and on the combustion engine when on a long journey. The launch event was held at St Regis Kuala Lumpur with the only detail lacking is the price, which has not been finalised. 

The New 2019 Mercedes-Benz S560 e Plug-in Hybrid is Now Offered in Malaysia - RM658,888+++

-New variant of Mercedes-Benz’s flagship model, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S 560 e is the first ever S-Class plug in hybrid in Malaysia featuring state of the art safety and assistance systems and is priced at RM658,888 onwards.

-The 2019 S560e Hybrid system has a total system output of up to 475 hp - A combination of 367 hp of the 3.0 V6 petrol engine and 122hp of the EQ Power. 0-100km/h in 5.0 seconds, with an all-electric range of up to 50 km.

So Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched a new hybrid S-Class after a short absence. The 2019 S 560 e joins the Malaysian S-Class line-up. The latest model is a new generation of plug-in hybrid that offers customers the best of both worlds where it can be driven on battery power alone in the city and on the combustion engine when on longer drives. The new S560e can do 50km on electric power alone.

Spotted: Classic Mercedes-Benz W108 S-Class

I Spotted this immaculate W108 Mercedes-Benz S-Class yesterday while at the bank. This is most likely the later, late 1960s 280S model which somehow was more than the earlier 250S or 300S variants here in Malaysia. It is great to see classic cars like this still in use and in fantastic condition. 

MERCEDES-BENZ S 400 h AMG Line Officially Available in Malaysia

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has now made the V222 S 400 h S-Class with the AMG Line styling package. The Malaysian Mercedes-Benz S400h AMG Line comes with sportier looks on the outside where the AMG body styling kit, perforated brake discs and 19 inch AMG alloy wheels are now fitted. Today is another one of those days where I am going to let some photographs do the talking. This is a 1990s W140 series Mercedes Benz S320. The mother of all over-engineered Mercedes Benz. The reason it is in here is because of the condition it is in. It is immaculate. Seriously immaculate but one that is still driven on a weekly basis.

Early last year (2015) I was asked by a reader whether it was alright for him to buy a first generation Porsche Cayenne. As you folks know, the Cayenne is a luxury SUV that was made by Porsche to save Porsche from an early death. It sold by the bulk carrier loads and you can see them in every large city in Malaysia. I drove a barge of a Mercedes Benz the other day and it was utterly relaxing, even after half a day of Kuala Lumpur traffic. But whatever you do, do not, I repeat use it to enter small lanes and where everyone double parks. It can be such a pain the the arse. Purely meant for hotel lobbies and for drivers to worry about navigating through tight spots. B-roads in this would be unbecoming as manhandling a barge or an elephant could lead to disastrous results.
