MAN urges Malaysian transporters to prioritise quality and lifecycle value when investing in fleet assets during senior management visit to Malaysia during two day event - Official handover of 30 units of MAN trucks to new customers and bus signing for 137 units of MAN buses

During a two-day management visit to Malaysia, members from the senior management of MAN Truck & Bus SE stated that the commonly adopted “buy cheap, use and dispose” approach used by some transporters often results in higher total cost of ownership (TCO), unpredictable downtime and increased environmental impact..They had also urged Malaysian transporters to prioritise quality and lifecycle value when investing in fleet assets, stressing that true sustainability is achieved through durability, reliability and long-term efficiency rather than short-term cost savings.

This was attended by customers, MAN SE personnel, invited guests and members of the media. There was also a media Q&A which was attended by Friedrich Baumann (4th from the right), Member of the Executive Board and Head of Sales & Customer Solutions at MAN Truck & Bus SE, Thomas Hemmerich (3rd from left), Head of Sales Area International at MAN Truck & Bus SE and Marc Appelt (3rd from right), the Managing Director of MAN Truck & Bus Malaysia.

Earlier today, BMW Malaysia unveiled the All-New BMW 530i M Sport. This is another locally assembled variant of the New BMW 5 Series with a petrol powered engine and it has been unveiled with the New BMW i4 eDrive35 M Sport, which is what BMW calls an electrified Gran Coupé.

The 530i M Sport is estimated to cost RM400,000 (price not finalised at time of unveiling) while the i4 eDrive35 M Sport will cost RM294,800 without insurance or RM315,800 with the BMW Service inclusive package.

Previously, the i4, or 4 series was the 3 series coupe or gran coupe but these days, BMW has decided to put all the 2 door and 4 door with coupe styling (usually with frameless glass doors) as the 4. So this is more coupe than sedan.
