Carlist.my, one of the more established automotive websites especially when it comes to searching for vehicles on line has been pretty aggressive in terms of marketing recently. Following their successful autoshow over at the Setia City Convention Centre just recently, they have recently concluded their Carlist.my Grand Prix Challenge 2017 where one lucky winner of the nationwide contest drove away with one of the rare muscle cars which are currently on display at the ongoing Carlist.my muscle car roadshow hosted at the Suria KLCC Concourse area.

Today I got to hear Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s sales performance for the first half of 2017. The automotive juggernaut basically recorded growth in the first half of 2017 was primarily driven by the locally produced line-up, namely the Mercedes-Benz C-, E-, and S-Class, with a total of 3,663 units sold.

Volvo Cars announces that all cars launched from 2019 will have an electric motor in them

Volvo car has announced that it will only be launching cars equipped with an electric motor from 2019. What this simply means is that all of its cars will be electrified, either fully electric, plug in hybrid or mild hybrid cars. There would be no more Volvo cars that will only have a combustion engine that burns fossil fuel. It will either be in hybrid form at the very most.

BMW Motorrad Malaysia is challenging all BMW GS owners to take part in the BMW Motorrad Malaysia GS Trophy 2017 South East Asia Qualifier which will begin on 12 August 2017. This is a motorcycle riding endurance competition across multiple terrain conditions to select one winner who will represent Malaysia as part of the South East Asian team at the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy competition in Mongolia next year.

Of course. The plate AKU 8055 or AKU 1305 which basically says 'aku boss' or I am the boss in Malay. The '1305' spells out if you put the 1 and 3 closer than legally allowed. How expensive? Well, it could at least hit RM10,000 I think. Like the minimum for single digit plates. But my friend has a suggestion for another plate...

Long Term Report: 2010 Peugeot 308 VTI - Seven Years and 143,000km Later..

..

Yesterday was the first time in over six and a half years I was handed the keys to the same 2010 Peugeot 308 VTI 1.6 automatic. This car belonged to a family member of mine and the owner and her family have been using it as their family car since 2010. It cost her somewhere in the region of RM100,000 and it has now over 143,000km on its clock. This is a one owner car and it has been maintained at the authorised service centre in Petaling Jaya. 

PEUGEOT returns to the pick-up market with Africa as its main focus

Peugeot has unveiled the new PEUGEOT Pick Up. This unique vehicle by Peugeot was specially made with the African continent in mind.. This signals the return of PEUGEOT to the pick-up market within the African continent to accelerate the internationalization of the brand as well as Peugeot revisiting the brand's older models.  It takes after the PEUGEOT 403 Camionnette-Bâchée of 1956, the PEUGEOT 404 Camionnette-Bâchée of 1967, and then the PEUGEOT 504 Pick-up which succeeded it until 2005.

The Mercedes Benz W124 - Future Proof car of the 1980s and 1990s

The Fasting month of Ramadhan is a time where things slow down a bit. A lot actually. So I have had some time to ponder on things which are slightly trivial like the car above. Again the Mercedes-Benz W124 has popped into my head. First produced in the 1980s and continued till the mid to late 1990s the car is an icon of German engineering. It is also an icon of mine as it is the first premium sedan that I drove way back in the early 1990s.

Happenings: Tyre Safety Awareness During Ramadhan By Continental Tyres - Giving out bubur lambuk porridge as well as free tyre checks

Continental Tyres PJ Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CTM) in partnership with Media Prima Radio Network recently conducted their bubur lambuk (a kind of porridge made only during the fasting month) giveaways for 3 weeks leading up to Hari Raya this year. This initiative was a first for CTM in giving back to the community. During the Ramadhan period as CTM's version of breaking fast with fellow Malaysians, a number of bubur lambuks were distributed at selected Petronas kiosks and R&R stops. Radio announcers from Kool FM and Hot FM made special guest appearances during the sessions too.
