SAIC Motor Malaysia, aka MG Cars Malaysia, is set to roll out its locally assembled MG ZS Crossover SUV in Malaysia at the end of October 2026. The all-new 2027 MG ZS will be offered in two variants: the MG ZS 1.5 Turbo and MG ZS Hybrid+. The B segment sized SUV is estimated to cost RM105,000 for the Turbo variant and RM115,000 for the Hybrid+ variant (Peninsula Malaysia excluding insurance).
There will also be an exclusive early-bird booking benefits available ahead of its official launch. First 1,000 customers to book before 30 October 2026 can enjoy exclusive benefits worth RM3,000, along with five years of complimentary maintenance. So those interested in the MG ZS should take advantage of this offer.
The second generation MGZS, first launched globally in August 2024, combines sleek, sporty styling with everyday practicality, making it an urban SUV / crossover rather than an all out multi purpose all-terrain vehicle.. Its exterior features a bold front fascia with Connected Hunter Eyes headlights, black grille accents, aerodynamic sculpting, rear LED taillights, a smooth rear spoiler and alloy wheels.The MGSZ is definitely an urban crossover, with its styling and its overall specification.
The MGZS zs is 4,430mm in length and 1,818mm in width, and what SAIC Malaysia says, offers an open and ergonomic cabin layout, enhanced interior space for improved headroom and legroom, and intelligent storage solutions. The vehicle also provides 443 litres of boot space, expandable to 1,457 litres with the rear seats folded down, offering one of the most spacious cabins in its segment. Inside, it is equipped with a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch floating infotainment display and a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster that presents essential driving information at a glance.
The MG ZS 1.5 Turbo is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivering a maximum power output of 170PS (125kW) and 275Nm of torque. Paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive, the powertrain offers responsive performance for everyday driving. It also delivers a combined fuel consumption of 6.9L/100km and features a 55-litre fuel tank.
As for the MG ZS Hybrid+, it features a 1.83kWh high-capacity NCM battery, paired with a 100kWelectric motor and a high-efficiency 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine, delivering a combined maximum power output of 215PS (158kW) and 465Nm of torque. Paired with an advanced three-speed Hybrid Transmission, the MG ZS Hybrid+ delivers a smooth and dynamic driving experience, combining EV-like responsiveness with the convenience of a refined hybrid powertrain without the need for plug-in charging. The intelligent hybrid system also enables EV mode driving at speeds of up to 80km/h in suitable driving conditions,delivering a quieter and smoother driving experience. Capable of accelerating from 0–100km/h in 8.7 seconds, it delivers very efficient fuel consumption of just 4.7L/100km and a driving range of up to 870km on a full 41-litre fuel tank.
All MG vehicles are equipped with MG PILOT Driver Safety Technology, designed to enhance driving confidence, comfort and safety through a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) 2.5 features, including the Intelligent Cruise Assist (ICA) and Driver Fatigue Monitoring System (DFMS). Paired with MG iSMART, MG ZS owners can remotely access and control key vehicle functions directly from their smartphones, including keyless entry functionality.
The MG ZS is available in four exterior colours – Flare Red, Silver, Andes Grey and York White – paired with a premium all-black interior featuring perforated leatherette seats.
