Today, PROTON aunched the All-New PROTON X50 Sport Edition (SE). The new Sport Edition is based on the Flagship variant of Malaysia’s best-selling B-segment SUV and features 15 exclusive exterior and interior enhancements for just RM1,999 more than the standard Flagship variant. However, this isn't an actual new variant but you order it by adding the options to the Flagship variant.
PROTON has stated that the latest addition to Proton’s segment leading SUV model, the Sport Edition is offered as a dedicated package of integrated styling enhancements, rather than as a separate vehicle variant. I suppose this is easier than registering and homologating a totally new variant in terms of getting this new variant out as in this case, you just package the accessory options into the purchase bundle and stick on the stuff ordered upon purchase.

PRODUCT SUMMARY - EXCLUSIVE 15 EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR ENHANCEMENTS ON THE PROTON X50 FLAGSHIP MAKING IT THE X50 SPORT EDITION (SE)
The exterior features a coordinated black treatment with contrasting red accents, including Black Front Upper Garnish, Black Front Side Port Trim Garnish, Black Lower Bumper Garnish and Black Rear Side Port Trim Garnish. Black 18-inch Alloy Wheels, exclusive Sport Edition Front, Side and Rear Skirtings, and Sport Edition Emblem complete the exterior transformation.
Inside, red stitching on the steering wheel, arm rest, door trims and seats introduces a contrasting detail against the black cabin. Sport Edition embroidery on the front seats, exclusive floor detailing with TPE floor mats and Sport Edition Metal Door Scuff Plate further distinguish the interior while adding everyday practicality.
The enhancements have undergone more than 13,700 hours of testing covering durability, corrosion resistance, UV resistance and suitability for Malaysia’s tropical climate, underscoring PROTON’s focus on delivering styling upgrades that are designed for local driving conditions.
FLAGSHIP PERFORMANCE, TECHNOLOGY AND SAFETY
The All-New PROTON X50 SE retains the Flagship variant’s performance, technology and safety features. Its i-GT 1.5-litre turbocharged engine delivers 181 PS and 290 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT).
Technology and connectivity are supported by a 14.6-inch infotainment head unit, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android AutoTM, complemented by the ‘Hi PROTON’ voice command system and PROTON Link 2.0.
The vehicle also retains the Flagship variant’s safety and parking technologies, including 15 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features such as Auto Park Assist (APA). Safety is further enhanced by a 360-degree HD Camera with 180-degree Transparent View and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
CONNECTED CONVENIENCE WITH PROTON LINK 2.0
The PROTON Link 2.0 mobile application allows owners to remotely access selected vehicle functions through their smartphones, offering greater convenience in everyday ownership. It also provides access to useful vehicle information, including vehicle location, fuel level, estimated driving range, vehicle alerts and trip history.
As an added convenience, PROTON Link 2.0 is also compatible with selected Huawei smartwatches running HarmonyOS, allowing owners to control key vehicle functions directly from their wrists. These include engine start and stop, air-conditioning control, door locking and unlocking, power window operation, trunk access, and horn and lights activation.
