Angka-Tan Motor Launches the Foton Aumark S Euro 5 AMT at MCVE 2026

Angka-Tan Motor Sdn Bhd (ATM), the official distributor of Foton trucks in Malaysia, had launched the Foton Aumark S Euro 5 AMT at the recently held Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo 2026 (MCVE 2026). This marks a milestone as the first Chinese light-duty truck in Malaysia equipped with an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). The system is engineered to deliver seamless gear shifts, reduce driver fatigue, and enhance fuel efficiency particularly in demanding stop-and-go city operations.  The Foton Aumark S Euro 5 AMT is priced at RM128,800 and comes with a six-year/300,000 km warranty.

The launch, which was officiated by Transport Minister YB Anthony Loke, responds directly to rising pressures in last-mile delivery, the need for fuel-efficient and driver-friendly vehicles, and the demand for high uptime and reliability. Built under the Super Truck Global Innovation Alliance, the truck’s rigid body structure meets international standards such as UN ECE R29, ensuring cab occupant protection. Its reliability has been proven through over 3 million km of real-world testing across diverse conditions.

The Aumark S Euro 5 AMT is powered by the Cummins ISF 3.8-litre engine, now certified to Euro 5 standards for cleaner emissions. The four-cylinder turbocharged engine generates 154 PS at 2,600 rpm and 500 Nm of torque between 1,200 and 1,900 rpm.

Power is delivered through a ZF six-speed AMT transmission, designed to boost productivity and operational efficiency. Together, the Euro 5 engine and AMT powertrain offer lower maintenance costs, longer service intervals, and reduced fuel consumption. The AMT also broadens the driver pool, encouraging greater participation from female drivers. It would now be easier for the driver of such a truck and also a way for operators to entice new drivers with the easier way of operating a truck or by keeping current drivers as the AMT allows easier driving especially during peak traffic in urban areas thereby making drivers less tired after many, many hours on the road.

Purpose-built for modern logistics, the truck offers versatile cargo capabilities and ease of operation. Measuring 6,930 mm in length, 2,060 mm in width, and 2,250 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,800 mm, the Aumark S Euro 5 AMT supports a gross vehicle weight (GVW) between 7,500 kg and 9,900 kg.

Notable Safety features include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) for improved traction on slippery roads Hill Start Assist to prevent rollback on inclines

The Aumark S Euro 5 AMT follows the launch of the Foton Auman R Euro 5 AMT in November last year, which brought AMT technology to the heavy-duty segment. Together, these models standardize the driving experience across light- and heavy-duty trucks, enhancing efficiency for both urban and long-haul operations.

For businesses seeking greener solutions, ATM also offers the Foton eAumark, a fully electric, zero-emission truck, alongside the Foton Bus for passenger mobility — positioning ATM at the forefront of Malaysia’s evolving logistics ecosystem.

Aumark S Euro 5 AMT → Urban logistics
Auman R Euro 5 AMT → Long-haul transport
eAumark → Sustainable operations
Foton Bus → Passenger mobility

All vehicles are engineered for Malaysian conditions — from congested city streets to tropical climates and heavy-duty usage cycles.

All Foton vehicles in Malaysia are backed by Foton Total Care, supported by Tan Chong Group’s nationwide service network, ensuring access to genuine parts and convenient servicing. Businesses can also opt for TC Trust, a tailored service agreement designed to optimize total cost of ownership and simplify fleet maintenance.

Additional support includes:Driver training for fuel-efficient driving and One-stop repair and insurance services

The launch also celebrates 15 years of ATM as Malaysia’s trusted distributor of Foton trucks, underscoring its long-standing role in supporting the nation’s transport and logistics industry.

With the launch of this AMT equipped light duty truck, the landscape of the Malaysian trucking scene is in the midst of change. Being the first Chinese truck with an automatic transmission means that they are now on parity with AMTs offered by Japanese brands here. The other issue or benefit from these China brands is that they are much more affordably priced than the more established Japanese and also European truck brands out there today. The winds of change will come sooner than expected as in a very price sensitive market, with the current problems in the Middle East and all, price will be a major factor aside from equipment and technology.
