Cycle & Carriage Signs Collaboration Agreement with Stellantis Malaysia, introduces PEUGEOT to its list of brands

Earlier today, I attended a press event where Cycle & Carriage, the very established, with over 125years of experience, automotive brand in Malaysia has entered into a partnershipwith Stellantis Malaysia to expand both parties’ market footprint in the country. It signifies a milestone in Cycle & Carriage's history as it prepares to retail brands under the Stellantis group while also supporting Stellantis Malaysia's multi-brand and multi-segment initiatives. They will start the ball rolling with Peugeot and have a sales outlets in Cheras and in Batu Caves with another one over in Georgetown, Penang to start the ball rolling.

Collaborating with Stellantis Malaysia is a notable move for Cycle & Carriage, aligning closely with its goals for growth and market expansion within the Malaysian automotive industry. Cycle & Carriage intends to leverage on its large network and extensive experience to provide its customers with continuous exceptional journeys in their vehicle ownership. As a principal, Stellantis Malaysia provides Cycle & Carriage with the opportunity to retail multiple brands under one roof, enhancing market reach and profitability.

"We are excited to embark on a new chapter with Stellantis Malaysia, to offer customers an expanded product lineup, coupled with Cycle & Carriage’s expertise in automotive backed by our 125-year history. This aligns with our strategy to deliver exceptional journeys to a broader customer base, expand our market reach, and drive shareholder value. We truly believe that existing and future customers will greatly benefit from this collaboration, offering easy access to a wider range of quality products based on their needs and quality services even after point of purchase," said Thomas Tok, CEO of Cycle & Carriage (pictured below with Jamie Morais, Managing Director of Stellantis Malaysia).

Stellantis is the fourth largest leading automaker and mobility provider in the world with 14 brands under its portfolio. The Stellantis Malaysia National Sales Company (Stellantis Malaysia) was formed and started operations on 1 March 2024 and is the official entity managing marketing, sales, and aftersales of the PEUGEOT brand in Malaysia.

Jamie Morais, Managing Director of Stellantis Malaysia  said “Today marks a significant milestone for Stellantis Malaysia, and we are thrilled to welcome our new dealer partner to our growing network. This is a testament to our commitment to delivering exceptional service and expanding our reach to better serve our valued customers. Cycle & Carriage’s reputation for excellence aligns perfectly with our values and we look forward to setting the new standards in the industry to provide unparalleled customer experience.”

Collaborating with Cycle & Carriage is part of Stellantis Malaysia’s dealer expansion efforts. This strategic expansion not only aims to strengthen the brand’s foothold in the country but also to identify key locations to be able to provide accessible and top-quality service to its customers nationwide in their communities.

As a start in Malaysia, three existing Cycle & Carriage showrooms in Cheras, Batu Caves and Georgetown, Penang will start showcasing and carrying the PEUGEOT brand under one roof with dedicated sales and aftersales presence by Q4 of 2024. Plans for expanding into other brands under Stellantis Malaysia are in the works, including further expansion into the south of Peninsular Malaysia by 2025. This marks another milestone for both parties in the region as they are already working closely together in both Singapore and Vietnam.

“This new chapter with Stellantis Malaysia is truly a testament of Cycle & Carriage’s commitment towards providing our customers exceptional journeys and adds to our rich automotive heritage in Malaysia. With a history of representing multiple automotive brands, we are excited to once again showcase further growth as a brand and look forward to serving Malaysians better in the near future with this expansion,” added Thomas.

What this does harks back to an era where Cycle & Carriage sold many automotive brands aside from the Three Pointed Star. We are seeing a paradigm change in this century old brand with Stellantis.
