smart Malaysia finally announces the official pricing at the launch of the smart #3. The battery powered electric crossover, was launched during its First-Ever smart Tour brand roadshow held at Pavilion Bukit Jalil on the 10th of July 2024.The smart looking smart #3 was first unveiled in Malaysia at the recent Malaysia Autoshow 2024 and will be priced from RM175,000 onwards before insurance. There are three variants from the base #3 Pro to the #3 BRABUS at RM255,000.
The smart #3 is the latest addition to the acclaimed smart range of cars. It is actually similar in size to the #1 but comes in a sleeker fastback / coupe exterior. The interior has less roof space but you do get that styling and the interior still looks as sleek and very Mercedes-Benz like - smart is a Geely - Mercedes-Benz joint venture these days and the parts sharing is there. Designed by the folks at Mercedes-Benz, the smart #3 seamlessly blends functionality with elegance offering an unparalleled driving experience. Having driven the #1, I can safely say that this is indeed a Mercedes A-Class without any Three Pointed Star badging. Whether this is a good thing depends on your point of view.
The smart #3 will be available as Pro, Premium, and BRABUS models specifically tailored for the Malaysian market. The smart #3 Pro variant features low drag 19inch Flux Wheels and a new industry-first seat rivet design with headrest featuring the smart logo. It is powered by a 49kWh LFP Battery, providing a WLTP (the more real world range calculation) Range of 325km.
The smart #3 Premium variant gives additional features notably CyberSparksLED + Matrix Headlamps, an Illuminated Front Grille, and a 66kWh NCM Battery. The battery feeds a 200kW/343Nm single motor driving the rear wheels, does 0-100kmh in 5.8s and delivering a WLTP Range of 455km, with top-notch AC and DC charging capabilities which equals to the latest fast charging standard of 22kW. This allows the onboard AC charger to charge up the battery in under 3 hours.There are three new levels of regenerative braking: Low, Medium, and High, supported by 23 high-precision sensors enabling 21 ADAS functions.
As for the range topper, the smart #3 BRABUS variant is designed for high-performance enthusiasts, boasting a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 3.7 seconds. Performance is delivered by a 315kW/543Nm Dual-motor All-Wheel-Drive powertrain, offering exceptional handling, traction, and a practical WLTP Range of 415km.
The smart #3 features 12 stunning exterior color com2binations, offering a variety of options to match any personality and style. This wide range of colors is a unique selling point not commonly offered by other brands.
