UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) announces order taking for the all-new Toyota HiAce Super Long Wheelbase (SLWB) Window Van

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) have announced that the order taking for the all-new Toyota HiAce Super Long Wheelbase (SLWB) Window Van has started.  The new HiAce is designed to offer excellent efficiency, safety, and an effortless driving experience. It should go well with operators that want the legendary Toyota reliability, brand cachet and other aspects that come with the badge. Well loved by tour group operators that take small groups of tourist long haul here in Malaysia to neighbouring. Or even just short trips for airport transfers. All in a Toyota van. A legend when it comes to moving people.

The new Toyota HiAce SLWB stands out with its grand size, with a length of 5,915mm. Couple that long length with a width of 1,950mm and a height of 2,280mm, the vehicle significantly surpasses its predecessor in size. The longer wheelbase, now 3,860mm, provides a spacious interior, enhancing passenger and cargo comfort for lengthy journeys.

The increase in dimensions, with the length expanded by 1,220mm, width by 255mm, and height by 300mm, not only offers more interior space but elevates stability and driving dynamics. This enhancement in size and design highlights the HiAce SLWB's evolution, promising comfort and efficiency for every journey, reflecting its leap towards improved practical utility.

So compared to my last trip on a HiAce which was in Phuket, this should be an improvement in legroom and shoulder room, I think.

Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMWT, shared his anticipation for the upcoming launch of the Toyota HiAce Super Long Wheelbase, said, "We have received numerous requests from our business partners eagerly awaiting the new HiAce. As one of the leading commercial vans in Malaysia, the HiAce has always embodied our commitment to excellence. With the introduction of the Super Long Wheelbase model, we are proud to offer our customers a vehicle that not only meets but exceeds their expectations in terms of space, power, and comfort.”

The new 2024 Toyota HiAce Super Long Wheelbase features a 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV turbo-diesel engine that delivers 177 PS at 3,400 rpm and torque of 450 Nm between 1,600 to 2,400 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed Automatic transmission with Sequential Shift, designed for smooth acceleration and superior handling for a van of its size. These days automatic transmission is the way to go and is what the Malaysian market wants.

Other noteworthy features such as the Sliding Doorstep Lamp and a built-in Front Digital Video Recorder (DVR) emphasise Toyota’s commitment to safety and convenience. These additions aim to enhance visibility during entry and exit and offer drivers peace of mind with added security features. The Toyota HiAce SLWB comes equipped with 3-point seatbelts across all seats, prioritising the safety of every occupant during transit.

This latest evolution in the HiAce series, promises to set a new benchmark for 10-seater window vans. The new Toyota HiAce SLWB is designed for businesses requiring a reliable, spacious, and efficient vehicle, as well as for families looking for a comfortable and safe mode of transport.

“As we prepare to introduce the new Toyota HiAce SLWB, I am reminded of UMWT's commitment to'Move Your World' and pave the way for a connected, happy future. At UMWT, we believe in empowering individuals and businesses to move forward with confidence, and the new HiAce SLWB embodies this vision. The new HiAce SLWB is poised to redefine utility vehicles in Malaysia and beyond, setting the stage for a brighter tomorrow,” Datuk Ravindran K. added.

Interested customers are invited to experience the new era of utility vehicle performance by booking theToyota HiAce SLWB. With its superior dimensions, advanced features, and robust engine, the HiAce is poised to become the preferred choice for users seeking reliability and versatility in their commercial operations.
