Last weekend, 750 cyclists participated in the Isuzu Fun Ride 2023 organised by Weng Fatt Otomobil over in Ipoh, Perak. Weng Fatt is one of Isuzu Malaysia’s authorized dealers and this non-automotive, lifestyle related event was held in conjunction with the official opening of their new-look 3S Centre recently. The event was flagged-off by the assemblyman for Pasir Pinji YB Goh See Hua together with CEO of Isuzu Malaysia Shunsuke Okazoe, COO Kenkichi Sogo and Director of Weng Fatt Otomobil Cheng Kah Yik who later joined the participants on a shorter 3km ride. There is also a 40km ride for those who like feeling pain, have the time or are avid cyclists (or you could be all of the above).
The Isuzu Fun Ride kicked off from Isuzu 3S facility on Jalan Raja Permaisuri Bainun taking a 40km route passing various landmarks of the city before winding its way back to the showroom where participants were treated to refreshments and an opportunity to take home fabulous prizes in a lucky draw contest. Sunday The event also took advantage of the Ipoh Car Free day which happens on every fourth week of a month which is supposed to make city residents to go out and appreciate the city (exercise, sight see, etc) without worrying about vehicles.
During the start of the event, YB Goh commended Isuzu Malaysia and Weng Fatt Otomobil for organising such an event, he said, “Events of this nature not only allow participants to develop a deeper appreciation of cities by admiring its charm at a leisurely pace, it is also a healthy and environmentally-friendly pursuit that is suitable for all levels of cycling enthusiasts. I hope that other organisations will also take the lead to create more of such activities that allow us to appreciate the cities we live in,” said YB Goh.
“As a brand that places environment care as a key pillar of the business, Isuzu is always mindful of the need to develop socially-responsible and healthy pursuits. Events such as this Fun Ride provides us an opportunity to create family-based activities that are both fun and healthy in nature,” said Mr Okazoe.
