TC Euro Cars (TCEC), the authorised distributor of Renault vehicles in Malaysia, have now made the refreshed and better equipped 2019 Renault Captur available in Malaysia. The compact crossover vehicle is now improved with a new EURO 6 compliant engine for reduced emissions, stop-start engine function for added fuel savings and a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which offers better connectivity and navigation.

The refreshed 2019 Captur is now fitted with an upgraded version of Renault's turbocharged 1.2liter TCe 120 engine. It is front wheel drive and it is couped to a six-speed Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) transmission. The Captur makes 118hp and 205 Nm from as low as 2,000 rpm with a stated fuel consumption of 5.9L/100km (NEDC test method). The new engine also has start-stop function which helps to shut down and restart thepetrol powered engine to reduce the amount of time the engine spends idling, thereby reducing emissions.
Inside, the 2019 Captur gets a new 7-inch infotainment system. It now features offline and online navigation and internet connectivity. The infotainment system is able to support apps such as JOOX, Waze and many more through connecting to an internet hotspot. Totally 2019, if you know what I mean.
Aside from the news of the refresh, TCEC has also launched the Renault Captur+, a new Special Edition variant for those that want a little more enhancement. The Captur+ adds a number of design enhancements, interior refinement and convenient accessories while offering the same innovative features and exceptional driving experience. It features a silver/black two-tone front and rear bumper complementing the Captur’s dual-tone body colour .
For added convenience as well as being a first-in-its-class, the Captur+ is equipped with a hands-free power tailgate. This little function can allow the boot to be opened with a simple swipe of the foot underneath the rear bumper while the height can be programmed according to individual needs.
The Renault Captur+ adds more equipment inside. It comes fitted with a driving video recorder (DVR). The DVR is capable of recording up to 136 minutes of footage in high resolution at 1080p with a 16GB microSD card and offers an impact sensing function as well as adequate low light performance. The DVR comes with a smartphone app so customers can easily retrieve their videos easily. This is added security if the driver happens to get involve in a traffic incident and could be beneficial to record the incident.
The Renault Captur+ comes with maroon combination leather seats with finishing that extends to the door trims as well as the driver arm rest that has been added on. The armrest features stich detailing, offers additional storage space and is adjustable for greater comfort and convenience.
Kick plates emblazoned with “Captur” have been fitted to the front and rear door sills to protect the lower door section while adding a little bit more style. The trunk entry guard keeps the bumper from scrapes and scratches when loading and unloading items.
The 2019 Renault Captur+ is priced at RM113,300 while the refreshed 2019 Renault Captur is priced at RM107,980 and is also eligible for the ‘French Experience’ sales campaign. The promotion offers a trip for two to Paris to any customer who purchases a Renault within the campaign period.
