Both the senior management of Volvo Trucks Malaysia and Konsortium PD were present at the small ceremony.
Konsortium PD Sdn Bhd is a road transport and logistics company which was established in 2001. As it is a consortium, it came about as a result of the merging of several companies and their fleets to form one stronger business entity Currently, Konsortium PD operates in Port Dickson, Westport, Puchong/KVDT, Kapar, Kempas/Johore and HICOM/Shah Alam with Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd as their main customer. Konsortium PD Sdn Bhd has further grown its business by diversifying to industrial gases, other oleo chemical products as well as retail petrol stations. The company also has plans to expand into warehousing in the future.
Konsortium PD Sdn Bhd presently owns and operates 15 Volvo Trucks. So it would be safe to assume that they are familiar and comfortable in operating the trucks. Another piece of news is that the 17 trucks handed over are actually part of a 28 vehicle deal where an additional eleven trucks are to be delivered in 2019. Out of these trucks, five will be the Volvo FM370 and six FM440. By 2019, Konsortium PD will be operating 43 units of Volvo trucks.
