Site Update: Been Taking Things Slow Over The Past Few Days...

The title says it all. Been taking things easy for the past few days. If you folks checked out the Motoring Malaysia Facebook page during the #proton1tankadventure you'd know Zachary Ho (of Autoworld.com.my) participated in a Proton Persona and won the media category for that model. So I decided to reward myself some R&R from writing.

This is the first time in two years they are doing so and a small fleet of 453 Proton Gen2 and Persona cars will make its way to the Middle East, namely Jordan, Iraq and UAE (markets under the Al-Bakhet Group). DRB-HICOM and PROTON PRESENTS CARS TO MALAYSIAN OLYMPIC MEDALLISTS OF RIO 2016

Earlier today, DRB-HICOM and PROTON Holdings Bhd had presented a total of eight cars to the nation's Olympians who had succeeded in winning the medals at the recent Rio Olympic Games. Proton hopes that with the record achievement (our best performance at the Olympics to date) at the recent Rio 2016 Olympic Games, more talented Malaysians will be inspired to achieve greater heights and make our country proud. The cars are a big gesture of appreciation indeed and should be an incentive to those who want to reach greater heights.

Of religon, the lifespan of certain cars, the oldest of them all and that the idle mind is the devil's workshop

Lada 2107 - still in production in Egypt to THIS VERY DAY!!!!

Somewhere in the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur a group of think that the faith of muslims will be threatened by the mere sight of a cross and a church in their area. Aside from the conspiracy theory that this is to divert attention from what ex-Prime Minister and car guy, Tun Mahathir's scathing attacks on the current Prime Minister (who to me seems oblivious to what the heck is actually going on in our country) it goes to show that there are people who sit around with nothing better to do than to complain about normal things that we see in Malaysia.

We have mosques everywhere, so why isn't the faith of so many non-muslims affected? I think that these people have too much time on their hands. They actually need to have proper jobs and then a hobby...like racing cars on weekends. Take a look at Yours Truly over here. My kindergarten was behind the largest church in Taiping. I went to two different La Salle schools - St. George's Institution in Taiping and St. John's Institution in Kuala Lumpur. I am still who I am and not suddenly Padre Rig from Nacho Libre.

Old vs New: Part I - The Proton Persona SE...oooops Persona Elegance

So its now time for me to start writing another one of my 'unbiased' points of view on a certain car or cars. The past six months have been pretty good to me in terms of motoring as I started to write for myautoblog.org and then for www.carthrottle.com. I have to thank a very old pal of mine, Chan Lee Meng of uglychickens.blogspot.com who pointed me to the direction where I should be paid for what I write as he thinks that some of my articles are pretty decent. I suppose he was right, and I therefore owe him one. Big time.
