One of the oldest Automotive blogs in Malaysia. Since 2006 and going strong. Motoring-Malaysia.blogspot.my is an award winning Malaysian motoring / automotive / car news & reviews website or auto blog. It is where we rant and rave about cars, trucks, buses, motoring, motor vehicles and any interesting automotive industry related stuff. Unswayed in our point of view and darn proud of it! It's not about the numbers...it's about passion.

smart Malaysia has allowed us to show you the stunning interior of their upcoming (to Malaysia) smart #1 - We have also driven it so our Opinion is here
Yup. A few weeks after we were invited to a preview of the soon to be launched in Malaysia smart #1 battery electric crossover we can now show you interior shots of the car with what we can say will be the trim that is selected for #1 sold in Malaysia. Barring last minute changes of course. Like I mentioned in the previous post, the smart #1 is a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Geely, so it features so many Mercedes-Benz touches that I feel that this is essentially a rebadged, slightly more entry level variant of the EQ range of electric vehicles that Mercedes-Benz produces.

Modern Classic Driven: 1992 Mercedes Benz 300SL-24
The 1970s and 1980s were a period where
automobile development reached a certain peak. It was when
manufacturers perfected the basic monocoque chassis based on the
technology at that point of time. It was a pinnacle of sorts as we
see manufacturers keeping the same model chassis for decades instead
of the current practice of a new platform every five to seven years
like most do today. We had cars like the Lancia Delta, born in 1979
and carrying on until 1995.
We had various generations of
Volkswagen Golf Mk1 and Mk2 going on sale for over ten years
concurrently in the 1980s and we had those Mercedes Benz cars like
the W124 E-Class, the W126 S-class, the R107 SL-class and the R129
SL-class that came after the R107. These cars were deemed by their
makers to be able to be in production for over a decade in terms of
chassis design and only with changes to engines and equipment (to
keep up with the times and electronic technology basically). It was a
period of some stability in terms of automotive technology and it
showed in the cars at the time.

Saturday Night Teh Tarik Session Part 2: Audi A6 3.0 TFSI driven
The thing about Malaysia is that we love our al fresco dining. Though not at expensive coffee joints most of the time but mainly at our local mamak stalls or shops and certain tomyam stalls too. Of course there are those who frequent pubs, bars and bistros too but that is for other things that most petrolheads seldom do if they want to talk about cars.
And in continuing the tale of two cars driven a few saturdays back we now leave the Volkswagen Golf R Mk6 and head over to something akin to a world class bodybuilder in a well cut suit, the Audi A6 3.0 TFSI Quattro C7. Launched in 2011, the C7 Audi A6 is the fourth generation A6 and is Audi's mid-sized luxury car competing with the likes of the BMW 5 series and the Mercedes Benz E-class. The car in here is an early C7 A6 3.0 TFSI.
