Stellantis Malaysia at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 - Peugeot, Citroën & Leapmotor vehicles featured as well as autoshow sales promotional specials on Peugeot

For those that aren't in the know, Stellantis is a global automotive leader and the world's fourth-largest automaker. It currently owns brands like Peugeot, Citroen, Jeep and Fiat to name a few. The automotive conglomerate is in Malaysia in this new form and have marked its debut at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024. This comes after the recent launch of the all-new PEUGEOT 408 less than a month ago. So now, the automaker continues its reintroduction into Malaysia (as a group) by showcasing a lineup of vehicles from three brands under the Stellantis’ brand portfolio at the Autoshow. These are PEUGEOT, Citroën and Leapmotor.

The appearance at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 shows Stellantis Malaysia’s long-term commitment to the Malaysian market and outlines the group's  vision to offer a range of multi-energy (petrol, diesel and electric) vehicles across different segments and different demographic needs in Malaysia.

Jamie Francis Morais, Managing Director, Stellantis Malaysia said, "We are thrilled to be making our debut at the Malaysia Autoshow. Stellantis isn't just making a pit stop in Malaysia. We're here to stay, to become a true partner in your automotive journey where we strive to craft extraordinary experiences — from the moment you step into one of our showrooms to the countless miles you clock in on the road.”

“We’ve had a fantastic start with the all-new Peugeot 408 launch last month with over 300 bookings and counting to date, which is a strong testament to the car’s undeniable appeal. Next, we’re looking at how we can further cater to the different consumer preferences and lifestyles be it from reviving iconic brands such as Citroën and introducing new ones like Leapmotor for those who want to own an EV in the near future,” added Morais.

Peugeot -   Assembled in Malaysia
PEUGEOT, is front and center at the Stellantis booth.  While the booth was small and tightly packed, Peugeot was the one that took the lead with the all-new Peugeot 408 and the enhanced Peugeot Landtrek Special Edition (SE) pickup truck. Both the Landtrek Allure and Landtrek SE are  assembled at the state-of-the-art Stellantis Gurun plant in Kedah.

The all-new Peugeot 408 is offered in 3 distinct variants – Allure, Premium, and GT with a starting price of RM146,055*, the all-new 408 is an accessible option for those seeking a truly exceptional driving experience.

The Peugeot Landtrek SE now comes with upgraded suspensions for a sportier ride as well as being better suited for Malaysian sensibilities and a selection of new, practical accessories, the PEUGEOT LANDTREK SE has a new unique look that has been meticulously enhanced to excel in both urban and off-road environments.

Available in Rockstone Grey and Ceramic White, the LANDTREK SE retails at RM129,124* (prices stated herein are without insurance)

Citroen teases a Return to Malaysia
Citroën, another old heritage French brand under the Stellantis house of brands, basically hinted at its upcoming Malaysian return. They showcased the super cute and iconic Ami Buggy . This is a unique, EV Quadricycle cum car type thingy. Super unique and a must see at the Autoshow in my opinion. The other Citroen shown is the all-new C3 Aircross, renowned for its superior comfort, practicality, and space  These vehicles underscore Citroën's commitment to making continental cars more accessible while blending bold design with unparalleled comfort infused with innovation.
It is a shame that Stellantis had such a small booth as the Ami Buggy should have had a larger presence due to space constraints. If  you are at the Autoshow, please head to the rear of the Stellantis display, behind Peugeot. So cute, chunky and so purposeful looking. A toy. I like toys. So hopefully Citroen comes back into Malaysia and sells this so that I can see more of this around.

Morais said, “We see a tremendous opportunity to reintroduce our customers in Malaysia to the world of Citroën. The brand promises to inject innovation, comfort, and joy into your drive, and we are confident that our vehicles will resonate with Malaysians who appreciate a touch of Parisian flair”

Leapmotor - EVs Championing Electric Mobility

Stellantis recently announced the start of operations of Leapmotor International, which is a joint-venture strategic partnership with Leapmotor, a leading EV technology brand from China. Leapmotor International’s EV product offering is considered complementary to Stellantis’ current technology and portfolio of iconic brands and will bring more affordable mobility solutions to global customers in the fourth quarter with Malaysia included in the growth plans.
