JAECOO J7 Makes Its Public Debut, Kicks-off Nationwide Roadshow - Now at Desa Park City till 17th March 2024

Another manufacturer sets foor in Malaysia, JAECOO, with their premium SUV, the J7. Previewed by the public for the first time at the JAECOO Premiere Experience at Desa Park City on the 7th of March 2024, the J7 is the first model from the premium off-road SUV brand slated to be launched officially in Malaysia in the 1st half of 2024,,,, and its actually already March.  Malaysia will be the first in Southeast Asia to launch the J7, following a global rollout in Eastern Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Central and South America.

JAECOO is a premium off-road SUV brand from China.. JAECOO is a fusion of the German word "jager" (meaning hunter) and the English word "cool", so according to the folks at JAECOO, the brand embodies the seamless blend of attainable luxury and off-road functionality for the sophisticated adventurer.

With more than a decade of synergies and automotive experience, the group embraces the brand philosophy, "From Classic, Beyond Classic." Blending its wisdom and craftsmanship of master design teams from the UK, Germany, and other countries, JAECOO is setting a new standard for urban off-road SUVs. JAECOO is committed to providing the absolute best customer service and therefore focused on the extension of its Malaysian retail network.

In the future, JAECOO will actively promote the concept of sustainable development, combining all-road capabilities with new energy solutions. This will create a more efficient and environmentally friendly off-road performance, providing a more comfortable and greener travel experience for the urban elite.

Speaking about the opportunity the brand sees in Malaysia, President JAECOO Malaysia Leo Chen, shared, “The JAECOO brand was conceived based on insights about an emerging consumer group – fearless, trailblazers, ambitious individuals. After a great deal of research and analysis, we believe that JAECOO will capture the attention of this new unconventional consumer group, which we call the new urban elite. They are young at heart, successful in their careers and in life.  At the same time, they want to enjoy good quality of life and express their individuality through unique experiences.”

The brand is setting up its profile as an off-road SUV brand with a refined urban appeal,  JAECOO feels that their debut is timely as Malaysia experiences growing demand for SUVs. According to the Malaysia Automotive Association, SUVs comprised nearly 30% of the passenger vehicle market share in 2023, and that trend is expected to continue into 2024 and beyond.

The brand’s debut will be supported by a strong network of upcoming independent JAECOO dealerships nationwide, promising a premium ownership experience for customers. “JAECOO blends attainable luxury, off-road functionality, and intelligent technology for fans who enjoy adventures off the beaten track and exploring new experiences,” explained Vice President JAECOO Malaysia, Emily Lek.

The J7, JAECOO’s flagship model, is designed for superior engine performance, equipped with best-in-class fuel efficiency, and enhanced safety features. The SUV also features creature comforts such as a 540-degree camera, 14.8 inch high-definition media display, Apple Car Play and Andriod Auto to name a few.

It will be powered by a 1.6liter turbocharged direct injection petrol engine making 194hp and 290Nm. It is all-wheel drive and has a 7 speed dual clutch transmission. There are also 7 drive modes for the driver to play and set to car.

Now aside from that, I like new brands coming here as it offers new products and more competition to the current crop of brands. It also allows us more choice and with competition, allows more offers for us too. The J4 looks modern and I cannot fault the equipment list. Only once they finalise the prices that we shall know what it actually goes up against its competitors. People are saying that it will come in at RM160K and this seems like a competitive figure.

One other good point is that this isn't another battery electric vehicle as it is a petrol powered vehicle. This means something everyone is used to owning and no worries about range anxiety or taking more than 15 minutes or three years to charge an EV up. So on that note, I find it very palatable.

Everyone is invited to join the JAECOO Premiere Experience and get a front row view of the J7 from Saturday, 9 March to Sunday, 17 March 2024, 10:00am to 10:00pm at The Waterfront, Park City, Kuala Lumpur.

Subsequently, the JAECOO Premiere Experience will make its way throughout Malaysia as part of its nationwide roadshow. Mark your calendars to preview the J7 at the following dates and locations:
