Arriving with the M Sport package as standard, the New BMW X5 xDrive50e sees some extra updates in terms of performance and efficiency, packing more power with a greater electric range in a feat of modern athletic elegance.

The BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport was previewed at the 2023 performance report for BMW Group Malaysia where the brands under the group had over 15,000 units of BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad vehicles delivered solidifying the premium automaker as Malaysia’s Number One Premium Automaker for the fourth consecutive year. The new SAV is estimated to cost around RM530,000 before insurance is factored in which final confirmation on prices soon.

The New BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport in locally assembled (CKD) form will come in M Sport trim, which includes a sportier body kit and wheel tyre sizes and design, with a more powerful PHEV powertrain that delivers a combined output of 489 hp . The amount is actually an impressive 96hp more than its predecessor, and it comes with a massive 700 Nm of torque. The combined output of the 3.0-liter straight-six petrol engine and its electric motor allows the New 2024 BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport to achieve0-100kmh in 4.8 seconds. Pretty impressive for a sports utility vehicle.

The electric capabilities of the PHEV also receive a boost, giving it an electric range of up to 110 km (WLTP) alongside an enhanced 7.4 kW of charging, allowing it to go from a 0-100% charge in just 4.5 hours. The numbers are actually pretty decent for a hybrid. Something which gives you flexibility and the best of both worlds. 110km is actually impressive for a hybrid and if your daily commute is within a 20km radius, this could actually make more sense in the long run (vs full  EV in terms of paying for roadtax as now we benefit from a zero road tax till 2025 - We may pay a lot more than a internal combustion engine road tax for an EV).
