2024 Volkswagen Golf GTI - Now with new upgrades for RM252k

First post for 2024! Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) have introduced an updated Golf GTI, equipped with Harman Kardon audio system and a Head-up Display feature. So the Golf GTI will now retail at RM252,990. A little premium over the previous year's variant of course. You have to pay for the good stuff you know.

Harman Kardon is an established player when it comes to audio systems. The new GTI's 480-watt audio system enhances the already decent set up. It has 10 speakers optimised by Harman Kardon and it is designed to create an immersive surround sound experience and delivering a better listening experience than the base sound system.

The new head-up display projects key information in the immediate field of vision of the driver on the windscreen. Important information such as speed, navigation, and system warnings, keeping drivers informed, allowing them to absorb essential details without diverting their eyes from the road ahead. So more focus on the driving experience too.

Aside from the two, the rest of the Golf GTI is basically what it is, a hot hatch that delivers sporty performance and elevates daily driving experiences. Like last year's model, this year's GTI  is powered by a 2.0TSI turbocharged engine coupled with 7-speed wet clutch DSG to produce 245PS and 370Nm of torque. The performance is actually usable and like any other  Golf GTI, entertaining as heck.

The exterior styling is essentially the sportiest of all the Golf hatcbacks around. It sports its signature honeycomb front grille and red GTI trims. Completing the look are other features such as sporty 18” Richmond alloy wheels with red brake callipers, and full LED headlamps and taillights.

The 2024 Golf GTI gets Volkswagen's IQ. Drive system, an innovative Driver Assistance System (DAS) to assist drivers in making their journeys safer and more comfortable. IQ. Drive consists of Travel Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) which uses radar and various sensors to detect vehicles ahead, as well as Side Assist which acts as an active blind spot monitor, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert which warns drivers of potential danger when the reverse gear is engaged.

Front Assist, an Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) feature, uses a radar sensor integrated into the front of the GTI to continuously monitor the distance to the vehicles ahead. It also detects pedestrians and cyclists crossing the road.

The Lane Assist function ensures that the driver stays in lane, using its camera-based lane-keeping assistant. If the vehicle deviates towards another lane when direction indicators are operated by the driver, the system automatically intervenes by steering back into line. In addition, the Adaptive Lane Guidance function keeps the car within its own lane on an ideal line learned from the driver’s driving characteristics.

The Golf GTI is supported with 5 years free maintenance, 5 years unlimited mileage warranty and 5 years roadside assistance.
