UMW Toyota Motor will launch the all-new 4th generation Toyota Vios with new, enhanced specifications and upgraded features offer customers greater value. According to the company, the all-new Toyota Vios will be enhanced with improved performance and quicker acceleration too. It is now open for booking beginning 24th February 2023. Orders can be placed at all authorized Toyota showrooms nationwide.  They have also included teaser pics which you will see below. But that said, if you just head over to the Toyota Thailand website, which I link here, and below so you can see that it is basically the Yaris Ativ over there and you can see how the new Vios will look like.

2023 Toyota Yaris Ativ

The Vios has come a long way from the first two generations where they felt like just plain vanilla transport but ever since the current one we have right now, things have gotten much better and this new one adds even more styling to the fold. The bold front end styling that you see on the large D segment Camry is here in this generation of the Vios.

Toyota has adopted its new design language which you have seen on the current Camry and Corolla Altis, The new generation model features a more powerful appearance BUT, it now comes with a sportier looking fastback silhouette. The long-nose, rear biased cabin and lowered body screams sportiness. This is why I now think the Vios looks like its a decent B segment sedan. You get somewhat sporty looking car that you want to get in and drive. As I stated, the first two Vios generations were mere transport. Now it is sporty looking transport. Toyota states that the long wheelbase and large diameter tyres contribute to create a  stronger-looking lowered body.  I also note that the front bonnet is now clamshell styled and somewhat like its arch rival the Honda City. Small details folks.

The drivetrain keeps the proven 1.5-litre DOHC Dual VVT-i engine has been improved to deliver stronger performance while a new 7-speed CVT with Sequential Shiftmatic gives quicker acceleration as well as enhances fuel efficiency. In this entry level category of cars, expect reliability over outright performance though and you have at least 7 CVT gears to play with when you want to get a little frisky.

In terms of notable interior upgrades, drivers will get to enjoy high grade displays and improved comfort with the redesigned for a comfortable driving posture. New features such as Paddle Shifters and Electronic Parking Brake add convenience to motoring. More than just a touch elegance, the all-new Toyota Vios now exudes a more premium experience, all around. With better and more soft touch materials throughout the entire cabin.

Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) offers better safety features for both driver and passengers using advanced technology. TSS alerts the driver of dangers and also acts autonomously to prevent or avoid a collision. So expect the usual active safety features which you would get in a car (even B segment) in 2023.

. As with the previous generation of Vios, this new one will be assembled in Malaysia in Shah Alam by UMW Toyota Motor’s manufacturing facility, Assembly Services Sdn Bhd (ASSB. To date, over 505,000 units of the Vios has been launched here and more should roll out with this new one too.

UMW Toyota Motor will reveal more exciting specifications after the launch but what the press release from them tells us is that the all-new Toyota Vios comes in two variants - 1.5 G (AT) advanced and 1.5 E (AT) value deal - in 5 colour options with Spicy Scarlet being a new choice.

All new Vios models will come with a 5-year warranty and unlimited mileage. Owners also enjoy 24SEVEN Road Assist and 3 years of free subscription for the Toyota Vehicle Telematics System which monitors the car’s location at all times.
