KLIMS'13 - Infiniti makes its debut appearance at the Motor Show

Infiniti Q50

Infiniti has made their first appearance at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show. I hope they will keep on participating in it for years to come. Their cars might be for the luxury end of the car market, but variety makes things better. And people must have hopes and dreams.

They've displayed the luxury flagship Q70, the premium sports saloon Q50 (which has a larger 3.7liter engine compared to the 2.5liter Q70), the QX50 SUV and Sebastian Vettel's F1 car. Let's just see what Infiniti has to say - photos incorporated therein.

(-Sometimes, the press release is the most straightforward)

  • Infiniti Q50, the new premium sports sedan heralds a new design direction for the Infiniti range – is the first Infiniti to carry new Q badge

KUALA LUMPUR (11 November 2013) – Infiniti, a performance luxury vehicle brand from Japan is showcasing its model line-up for the first time in Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) from 15 to 24 November 2013.
Infiniti has built a reputation for producing premium vehicles with provocative design and world-leading technologies. Infiniti vehicles are renowned for their character and personality and obsessive attention to detail.
The Infiniti showcase in KLIMS displays premium vehicles in a combination of precision design and engineering and exhilarating performance.
Underlining its performance credentials, Infiniti has formed an alliance with the Red Bull Racing Formula One team as Title Partner and Vehicle Performance Partner. The partnership is a two-way transfer of ideas and techniques.
Central to the relationship is the appointment of four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel as Infiniti’s Director of Performance. Vettel has played an active role in the development of the Infiniti Q50 premium sports sedan and will continue to influence the characteristics of Infiniti’s future model line-up.
Marking another significant step in its plan to further expand its presence in the premium automotive sector, Infiniti today announced details of a new nomenclature strategy to be applied to its complete product range beginning with the 2014 model year. The first model to carry Infiniti’s new badge will be the Q50, an all-new premium sports sedan unveiled at Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2013.
The premium automotive brand will see its model range simply prefixed either by Q – for sedans and coupes, or QX, for crossover and SUV models. Each model will be further identified by a double digit representing hierarchy within the range.
This strategic change reflects Infiniti’s desire for clarity and cohesiveness as it embarks on ambitious growth plans, including significant expansion of the Infiniti portfolio.
