A bit of bad news to those looking to purchase a Mercedes-Benz A-Class or a GLA. There is a slight price increase in the A-Class (A200 especially(), GLA and GLB-Class cars sold in Malaysia. These price increases coincide with slightly upgraded specification in the cars like the added ambient lighting option now fitted to the A200 and the improved active safety features in the GLA 200 and GLB 200.
I suppose this is inevitable as if you throw more goodies inside, there is more cost involved and a price increase is bound to happen. But that said, this is the upper end of the car market. Entry level premium one might add. Hence the additions of the specification. Better to add in more toys for the people that can actually afford the car than to sell an empty one.
That said, I do enjoy sparse specced cars as there are less things to break down or go wrong. Imagine a taxi specced C200. I would enjoy it but most won't. They like toys and buttons touch and fondle. Hence the high specs in most premium cars.

The A-Class sedan

Several safety and convenience innovation systems like Active Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive Highbeam Assist, KEYLESS-GO Comfort Package and Wireless Charging have also been added for a new dimension of safety, convenience and stress relief.

The GLA
The Mercedes-Benz GLA features a sharpened and compact SUV character with an expressive design.
As the base model, the GLA 200 also features the ambient lighting, thus create fascinating colour schemes.

The GLB
The GLB is the most versatile SUV in the Mercedes-Benz premium SUV range. Its iconic design lends the GLB an unmistakable SUV character, showcasing its classic off-road boxy design, featuring a boot capacity of up to 1,805 litres and a third seat row. The GLB 200 is now also equipped with ambient lighting.
Likewise the other models, Blind Spot Assist now comes as a standard specification on the GLB 200.
