Sunday Car Porn: Mini Superleggera Vision Concept and the Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato

I know this is a bit late as almost all the websites have published this bit of news. The car, touted as BMW Mini's challenge to the Mazda MX-5 is indeed a stunner. It brings back a look from an era that has long gone - the 1960s. Small roadsters as well as gorgeous looking coupes existed back then. Think Lotus Elan, Aston Martin DB5 (which is by Touring Superleggera and you can see the similarity in its DNA too) and the Jaguar E-type to name a few. Super glamorous. And if Mini does make it its flagship model, it could possibly be the most gorgeous small roadster/coupe on sale which you can buy.

Let's hope it gets into production soon. I would be quite affordable in expensive car Malaysia. I do think the region of RM300,000 is 'affordable' these days as if you paid attention, you would see tons of cars costing this amount in and around the Klang Valley.

And meanwhile, Zagato has brushed its magic on the earlier Gallardo by coming up with the Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato. Based on the LP570-4, the Gallardo gets new clothes from Zagato. With Zagato's trademark double bubble roof and the familiar hunched proportions it breathes new life to the recently replaced Gallardo. No, it is not for the normal Lamborghini customer. It is for those who want something different, something coachbuilt. It is opinion dividing of course, being a Zagato.

And if it does go into limited production, a few LP570-4s are going to be 'victims' or donors. You tell me.
