PROTON to launch its new sedan in two months time - Expect it to be the new Persona if it's based on the Geely Emgrand

At the presentation of Malaysia cultural handicraft to national athletes for them to present to the Asian Games Museum in Hangzou, China during the upcoming 19th Asian Games, the CEO of Proton, Dr Li Chunrong, had announced that the company will be launching a new sedan within the next couple of months as well as  announcing that their Electric Vehicle will also be launched soon after that. Fingers crossed it happens as scheduled!

The news is indeed quite a juicy bit for those who want a Proton but want a sedan rather than a SUV. As for the EV, that folks, is the upcoming smart #1, which should be launched a few weeks after that and that has been blogged about here.

PROTON have started teasing the all-new B segment sized Proton PERSONA

Proton has now officially teased us with one (1) picture of the all-new Proton Persona which will be launched soon. The car, will effectively replace the current Persona but it is supposedly slightly smaller than the one which has been around for....err...a very long time (about 9 years or so to this date). The main difference between the new Persona and the new one is the size.

New Proton Compact Car - AKA the Proton Iriz - Our initial opinion.

Proton has previewed its all-new Compact Car on its own microsite called http://www.betulbetulonz.com.my/. 

BUT to view the car Proton expects us to catch a glimpse of the car by asking us to scan the QR Code on the website and get 3 other friends to do so and then link the photos together. Fortunately for us, and unfortunately for Proton we have Paultan.org, Malaysia's largest automotive portal to do that for us. And in doing so undermines what Proton is trying to achieve with all that nonsense about linking photos together, making life difficult for you and I as well as losing a ton of traffic on their own micro site and getting Paultan.org more hits. Fantastic isn't it? Anyway, for more explanation on the new car which according to sources is to be called the Proton Iriz you could head over to Paultan for more. Proton P321A (Persona Replacement?) at Proton's Power of 1

Proton brought out the Proton P321A prototype to its Power of 1 event over at Bukit Jalil yesterday (and for the next few days). The car was in typical test car livery - i.e full of swirly stickers camouflaging the looks of the car. But one can basically tell that it is a 4 door saloon in the same mould of its supposed predecessor the Proton Persona. It looks slightly taller and slightly more contemporary.
