The GAC M8 PHEV MPV is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine coupled to a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) and an electric motor. This setup has a maximum output of 372PS and 630Nm of torque. GAC also claim a very impressive mileage of 1,038km on a full charge and a full tank. This is possible because it has a 25.57kWh battery and 56-litre fuel capacity, the M8 PHEV should give all of this with a seamless balance of power, efficiency, and long-distance comfort.
Featuring an advance Adaptive Vehicle Dynamics Control System and an Electromagnetic Damping Suspension, it ensures outstanding driving comfort and stability across different road conditions. The advanced hybrid powertrain offers three intelligent driving modes – Intelligent Hybrid, All-Electricity First and Power Preservation – catering to the versatile needs of modern drivers.
In terms of its styling, the M8 PHEV features a “Lion-like” front face and “Awakening Eye” LED headlights.. The exterior looks are finished by its 18-inch alloy wheels with a signature self-levelling wheel caps. For the interior, the cabin exudes refined elegance with semi-aniline leather upholstery, extended 480mm second- and third-row sliding rails for best-in-class legroom, and an ultra-quiet interior enhanced by 108 sound insulation points and an Engine Noise Control (ENC) system. The unique M8’s draft-free air conditioning system, powered by Cool-Sense Technology, delivers gentle, wind-free cooling for an elevated sense of comfort.
As for safety features, the M8 PHEV features GAC’s patented world-first rear windscreen airbag as part of a 360° comprehensive airbag system, along with a suite of advanced technologies including Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Full Automatic Parking Assist (FAPA) to ensure peace of mind for all occupants.
Owners of the GAC M8 PHEV will enjoy a 5-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty and an 8-year or 150,000km battery warranty, whichever comes first.

The GAC M8 PHEV is now available for sale at GAC showrooms nationwide, with test drives offered by appointment. As part of the launch celebration, the M8 PHEV will also be showcased at a series of upcoming roadshows, including Johor Mid Valley SouthKey Centre Court from 5 to 9 November, and the Malaysia Car of the Year Showcase at 1 Utama from 12 to 16 November.
