Today is a Sunday, and WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), a subsidiary of Warisan TC Holdings Bhd, has officially unveiled two new GAC GS3 EMZOOM compact SUV variants to its line-up in Malaysia. The range-topping 2024 GAC GS3 EMZOOM Premium R is now joined by the GS3 EMZOOM Standard and GS3 EMZOOM Exclusive, bringing WTCA’s localisation project of the B-segment SUV to completion following its initial introduction as a CBU model in Malaysia back in April 2024.
This was quite a fast track project actually, from the talks to the actual assembly only took somewhere around three years. This allows us to have another new brand for us Malaysians to go look out for when searching for a compact SUV. Prices now start at RM103,800 for the Standard, to RM116,800 for the Exclusive and on to the range topping Premium R at RM119,800 (all On The Road without insurance for Peninsular Malaysia only). But there are early bird packages that you can opt if you buy now.
Now totalling three variants, the updated 2024 GAC GS3 EMZOOM line-up offers a competitive pricing as well as a good range of features across the board. All three variants are powered by GAC’s 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine that makes a maximum of 177PS at 5,500rpm and 270Nm of torque, available from 1,400rpm to 4,500rpm. The power is transferred to the front wheels via a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (7WDCT), enabling a very decent 0-100km/h acceleration time of 8.0 seconds. The fuel economy figures meets the Malaysian Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) standards with an average consumption of only 5.9 litres per 100km.
All GAC GS3 EMZOOM models feature the same bold exterior defined by the Mecha Wing grille, Laser Eye Split LED headlights and electric hidden door handles that lend a futuristic and aerodynamic aesthetic to the side profile. The dynamic front end is matched in the rear by Light Dart tail lights and a sporty Rear Spoiler while 18-inch alloy wheels complete the look across all three variants. Visually, the GS3 Premium R differentiates itself from the Standard and Exclusive variants with its R-Style Sport Package and R-Style Exhaust.
The contemporary blue-and-black interior colour scheme is applied to the cabin of all variants, which offer segment-leading space and comfort thanks to the GS3 EMZOOM’s longest-in-class 2,650-mm wheelbase. All variants are equipped with GAC’s signature crystal electronic gear shift and multifunction steering wheel with four-way tilt and telescopic adjustment.
On the technology front, advanced features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android phone mirroring, electronic parking brake with auto hold and Blind Spot Vision (BSV) are standard throughout the range. Exclusive to the GS3 EMZOOM Premium R is the added luxury of automatic headlight, High Beam Assist, Fusion Automatic Parking Assist, six-way power adjustment for the driver seat, multi-colour ambient lighting, wireless smartphone charger, hands-free power tailgate and a panoramic sunroof.

The appointment of a new Brand Ambassador
As part of the ongoing efforts to further endear the GAC brand to Malaysian customers following the positive start it has enjoyed with the GAC GS3 EMZOOM, WTCA has appointed multi-talented Malaysian radio and TV personality Jack Lim as the Official Brand Ambassador of GAC Malaysia. Lim was selected based on his achievements, creativity and personality which resonate with the GAC brand theme : “Where Craft Meets Technology”.
A household name in the Malaysian entertainment industry, Lim is the anchor DJ for MYFM 101.8FM, Malaysia’s leading Chinese language radio station. He is an accomplished artist and producer known for a wide range of acting and hosting roles which align with GAC brand values such as trust and quality. His prominence among the Malaysian community makes him a leading candidate to guide the GAC brand to a position of market leadership that it currently occupies in its home market in China.

With Rev Up Deals offering cash rebates worth RM5,000 and RM7,000 for the Exclusive and Premium R variants respectively, customers can enjoy promotional prices starting from only RM111,800 for the GS3 EMZOOM Exclusive and RM119,800 for the GS3 EMZOOM Premium R. WTCA also offers the option of value for money bundling of Complimentary Maintenance Service and Smart Watch Key worth RM1,388 in lieu of lower cash rebates.
The GAC GS3 EMZOOM Standard is offered in Frost White and Asphalt Black options. The GAC GS3 EMZOOM Exclusive offers two additional choices, which are Salt Lake Blue and Superstar Silver. All of these colours are available for the GS3 EMZOOM Premium R, which features an exclusive Graphite Grey colour, in addition to the sporty orange exterior trim which is limited to this range-topping variant. Asphalt Black and Graphite Grey are exclusive to the locally-assembled GAC GS3 EMZOOM, these colours are currently not offered anywhere else outside the Malaysian market.
All variants in the updated 2024 GAC GS3 EMZOOM line-up offer maximum peace of mind with a five-year, 150,000-km warranty. Additionally, the first 2,000 customers can enjoy the extra protection of a seven-year, 180,000-km engine and transmission warranty, subject to official terms and conditions.
