Downsizing is the keyword with automotive engines these days. The Ford Motor Company has embraced this concept wholeheartedly. It isn't just big and mighty 5.0 V8s that power such cars like the Ford Mustang above, but a 2.3lliter Ecoboost engine. Still making 310hp / 430Nm, it still makes a large American sports car go pretty fast. In fact, the 4.6liter V8 that powered the previous generation Mustang GT made just 300hp / 433Nm. The Ecoboost is a fabulous work of engineering.
The first Ford EcoBoost engine was introduced in 2009 and since then, 5 million EcoBoost-equipped vehicles have been sold globally. In the Asia Pacific region, demand for the EcoBoost engine range is growing and Ford will be launching more vehicles equipped with the fuel-efficient technology. By the end of 2015, Ford will offer EcoBoost in Asia Pacific in more than 20 vehicles.
In Malaysia, Ford offers the award-winning 1.0L EcoBoost in the sporty Fiesta, while the versatile Kuga features a 1.5L EcoBoost, the high performance Fiesta ST has a 1.6L EcoBoost, and the stylish Mondeo, S-Max and Focus ST are powered by 2.0L EcoBoost engines.
So Ford has decided to celebrate the engine by making short films. Five of them as explained below -

Ford Motor Company presents a series of entertaining short films that celebrate the theme of Small but Mighty. The shorts, created by five emerging filmmakers from around the world, celebrate small acts and ideas that pack a mighty punch. The theme of Small but Mighty is inspired by Ford’s much-celebrated range of EcoBoost engines.
Ford’s EcoBoost engines deliver great power, use less fuel and generate fewer emissions compared with larger-displacement naturally aspirated engines. Filmmakers took up the challenge to craft short films that capture the spirit of what the engine range is all about, and demonstrate a moment in life, a person or an idea that is Small but Mighty.
From a man with incredibly strong super hero-like arms, to a young boy who dominates the soccer field; from a super granny, to a couple who are inspired by little moments that shape the mighty world – the short films explore a variety of subjects, but at their core the compelling message of Small but Mighty shines through.
Soccer Prodigy
A pint-sized football champ proves that size doesn’t matter in Soccer Prodigy. The director Jude Chun cast a talented 8 year-old with incredible ball-handling skills. The young boy’s impressive moves on the pitch steal the show in this comic book-style short.
Small but Mighty Arms
Andy Kelemen – an award winning filmmaker – produced Small but Mighty Arms. In the style of a mockumentary, the film’s comedic narrative revolves around the life of a slim man who at first struggles but then finds amazing use of his incredibly strong arms.
Mighty Ride
Viewers get taken on a heartwarming journey in Mighty Ride. Directed by Ricky Rojas, the film is based around an ethereal daydream, and features a series of stunning landscapes. It’s about the small details, moments, and actions that shape lives and the big, mighty affect they have.
Bite with a Kick
Independent filmmaker Ellenor Argyropoulos created Bite with a Kick. The film – which is set in the Australian outback – tells the story of a family on a camping adventure, and the surprising power of a small chili.
Small but Mighty Vignettes
Daniel Brothers and Lauren Schad of Long Way Home Films weave together a series of highly visual scenes of small feats, which prove that good things really do come in small packages. Ranging from the hilarious to the heart-warming, the five scenes will leave you wanting more.
