Motoring Malaysia Update and Some Thoughts on the Upcoming Toyota Supra

I've been a little busy with some other projects outside of the automotive world folks. I have to actually earn a living, be a father and also entertain myself via other non-automotive means sometime. So last weekend was one of those 'I stayed home and became a couch potato kinda weekend'. Of course, I wished it could continue and I also wished I was in Down Under for another vacation like what I did at the end of last year. But alas, it's already March of 2018! Suddenly the first quarter of 2018 is almost over! How fast time flies when you're having fun.

The New BMW M2 - Slightly less than a BMW M4?

BMW just previewed details and pics about its new M series car. It is based on the BMW 2 Series coupe and isn't that much smaller than the BMW M3/M4. Isn't that much slower than the M3/M4 as it basically runs a detuned M3/M4 engine. It also has the same optional DCT gearbox as the M3/M4. It has a lot of M3/M4 parts inside it.  I think you get what I am trying to say by now.

The new BMW M4 GTS - Do you want one? I do.

BMW has a new GTS model. The BMW M4 GTS is a 700 unit limited edition that celebrates the 30th anniversary of the BMW M3 (Essentially the M4 is a two door M3 as BMW names its two door coupes in even numbers).

News: BMW launches the wind in your hair BMW M4 Convertible

For those that want the wind in your hair and miles of empty space above your head as well as the need for speed (and oversteer), you can now opt for the the BMW M4 Convertible. Yay!!!  4.4 secs to 100km/h with the DCT to those that want to know. It looks gorgeous with both the top up and down in my opinion.

PRESS RELEASE
The arrival of the new BMW M4 Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 9.1–8.7 l/100 km [31–32.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 213–203 g/km) sees BMW M GmbH making another alluring addition to its legendary high-performance sports car line-up. The new M4 Convertible replicates the performance figures of the new BMW M3 Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 8.8–8.3 l/100 km [32.1–34.0 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 204–194 g/km) and the new BMW M4 Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 8.8–8.3 l/100 km [32.1–34.0 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 204–194 g/km), but emphasises its stylish and distinctive appearance through its individual character and places the fascination of sporty and dynamic open-top driving at centre stage. The new model finds BMW M GmbH drawing inspiration from a long tradition: BMW’s high-performance sports car for track and road is entering its fifth generation in open-top form with this new chapter in its history headed “M4 Convertible”.

BMW M4 on the 'Ultimate Racetrack'

Here we have the BMW M4 on an aircraft carrier with a racetrack on it. Yes it is a mash-up of actual driving and CGI of a racetrack on an aircraft carrier. Marketing at its best. But, so's the driving in the vid too!
