Sri Maju Cergas Logistics Sdn Bhd (SMCL) has added 12 units of the Scania Super XT G460A6X4HZ heavy duty prime movers to their fleet. Their acquisition has further strengthened their  partnership with Scania  Malaysia which began quite recently in 2023. The handover of 12 units and a signing ceremony for 10 additional units were held at Scania Malaysia, Bukit Jelutong recently.

JETOUR Auto Malaysia has announced that they have officially started local assembly operations for its  SUV models, the JETOUR Dashing and the VT9, over at at their Malaysian assembly partners, Berjaya Assembly Sdn. Bhd. (B-Assembly) facility in Tampoi, Johor. It  marks a step forward the China brand's localisation strategy to take advantage of the current tax and pricing structure as well as ensuring the brand's long-term commitment to the Malaysian automotive market.

National Cyclist Dato' Azizulhasni Awang is the First Ever Brand Ambassador for Volkswagen Malaysia

Today, we got to sit in the same room with national cycling icon, Dato Azizulhasni Awang. A real down to earth champion from the looks of it. Sunway launches its new Zeekr Space Sunway City and Zeekr Sunway Service Centre

Sunway Marketing, a dealer partner appointed by Zeekr Malaysia, has officially launched Zeekr Sunway today in the heart of Sunway City in Subang Jaya, Selangor. This comprises of the Zeekr Space showroom in Sunway City and the Zeekr Sunway Service Centre located close by (Zeekr Space is the official definition for both spaces). The launch marks a significant transformation of the first Zeekr retail space in Malaysia, which was located just across the road from the new showroom at the Sunway Pinnacle in October 2024 in conjunction with the local debut of the Zeekr brand.  Now, with a larger, more prominent space on its own, the new showroom or Zeekr Space makes the viewing, and buying experience feel much more premium.

This happened last weekend, where the company held somewhat of an unveiling ceremony at Setia City Mall. Themed “All-New PROTON X50: READY TO ROAR”.

It combines modern design, practical space and with advanced features that we've come to expect from Chery, and to some extent, all cars launched in 2025. Yes, we're spoiled. The compact, contemporary looking SUV will be sold in two variants, the 1.5 Turbo and a hybrid, 1.5 CSH Hybrid. These will cost Price RM 88,800 (WM) and RM 99,800 (WM) respectively before any insurance but with road tax.

Hyundai Motor Malaysia is officially in Malaysia as principal and announced the launch of the latest STARIA variants, the New TUCSON, and the All-New SANTA FE

Yesterday, Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY), the newly formed Malaysian company under Hyundai Motor Company (HMC), marked its official launch at MITEC in Kuala Lumpur. The new company also introduced three key models: the Hyundai STARIA, the New Hyundai TUCSON, and the All-new Hyundai SANTA FE. The all new Santa Fe features the latest Hyundai styling cues, and features the new boxy lines rather than the curvaceous styling of the previous generation one and is my highlight of the launch. 

This launch signals the beginning of a new chapter for Hyundai in Malaysia, as previously, the brand was sold through a dealer network, via Hyundai Sime Darby Motors. Now, as dealer principal status, we may see the brand come into Malaysia with more of an impact and one that should be more in line with what the third largest vehicle manufacturer in the world is. They are starting with a product lineup shaped by local demand for family-ready MPVs, versatile SUVs, and feature-rich vehicles designed for modern Malaysian lifestyles. Still in the mid-range, but with more features and as you will read, decent prices and warranty packages.

The almost (according to us) all-new 2025 Proton X50 SUV makes its debut to the Malaysian media - It looks good on the outside and you can now speak to it in Bahasa Melayu too - UPDATED WITH VIDEO

The folks at PROTON has allowed us to announced that they had shown us the All-New 2025 PROTON X50 and even allowed us to show some official renders of the new compact SUV that will soon be launched. This media preview was held a few weeks ago is the first marketing build up  as the Malaysian car brand prepares for its launch which is the first major model launch of 2025. With over 134,000 units sold since its debut in October 2020 the X50 compact SUV has been the number one model in its class for five consecutive years. It has been updated with-new styling both inside and out, upgraded ADAS level 2 features, an improved infotainment system with a larger 14.6-inch screen, and for the first time ever, Bahasa Melayu voice recognition. The car looks good doesn't it, with its new toothy grin and new interior.

The new 2025 onwards X50 will be available in three variants - the X50 Executive, Premium, and Flagship. PROTON will run a series of activation events in the weeks leading up to the grand launch of the All-New PROTON X50 to fan the flames of those who want to buy a car in the very, very near future. They want to show-off the new X50 with its new features as well as collect accept early bookings from potential buyers. (updated with video preview below)
