Taking centre stage tomorrow evening is the launch of the All-New Toyota Vios. Mostly new with its new interior and exterior design incorporating new technology (lighter and longer in wheelbase) and features, set to attract, excite and inspire. All of these coupled to a reliable 106hp 1.5liter engine and a 7 Speed cvt transmission should make it a decent drive in all aspects.

Adopting a new design language, the new generation model features a sportier appearance with its fastback silhouette - still a traditional sedan though. The all-new Vios now also exudes a premium experience, all around with better and more soft touch materials throughout the entire cabin. The long wheelbase and large diameter tyres (now 17inches for top models) contribute to create a voluminous powerful-looking lowered body. This also explains the slight hike in price - from what I have heard, the top of the range G spec will be in the RM95,000 price range. These are the days where B segment cars cost RM100K or thereabouts. Time have changed.
But the powertrain could allow you to save on running costs. No turbocharger but a simple petrol engine. The proven 1.5-litre DOHC Dual VVT-i engine has been improved to deliver stronger performance while a new 7-speed CVT with Sequential Shiftmatic is tuned for quicker acceleration as well as enhances fuel efficiency - the overall chassis is also lighter, so this should help acceleration too. New features such as Paddle Shifters and Electronic Parking Brake add convenience to motoring.
Tomorrow evening folks. But I suppose you could already go place your bookings if you want to.
