Here is our video on the Proton X50 after the first Media Preview. Forgive me if I do not sound enthusiastic in the video. It was made last weekend and the reason was that I had not have enough coffee as I slept late, woke up early. Usual weekend stuff. Anyway, got this out for you folks out there! This is our thoughts on the upcoming Proton X50 Compact SUV. Well, actually I was lazy. Enough said!
This review was a bit later than others out there as we needed time to gather some extra thoughts as well as do other stuff too - we only got a pair of hands you know. The written article was already published Here a day after the media preview. So this is a audio-visual followup of that first X50 preview.
We think it will be a hit. Price will be the main draw of course but if you count specs and equipment, it does hit the right notes.
The preview vehicle was the 2021 X50 1.5TGDI Flagship variant which is the top of the line model and it is very well equipped. No price, performance details were reviewed during this preview as Proton basically focused on the new infotainment system, which is pretty good as it now allows smartphone connection for various functions including start and stopping the engine.
The styling was also in focus as this was the first time the media was allowed to officially view the car.
All in all, a pretty good follow up to the X70 SUV. Proton is going places and it will sell if the price is right.
