Perodua Has Resumed All Operations Nationwide After the Two Month MCO Closure


Good news for all Perodua owners and customers. The Malaysian compact car manufacturer has officially resumed operations at all 182 sales, 202 service and 68 Body & Paint outlets nationwide, after a two-month Movement Control Order (MCO) closure. As with all re-opening of car dealerships nationwide, Perodua have put in place their Standard Operating Procedures to safeguard everyone within their facilities, be it their staff and also the people who are visiting their premises.



Perodua outlets restarted operations on a staggered basis from 12 May 2020 and the company has been working hard to ensure all the sufficient health and safety measures are in place. According to Perodua, all visitors must undergo temperature checks before entering outlets, register their details and adhere to social distancing markers within the outlets at all times. Hand sanitisers are placed at key locations, while the outlets themselves are sanitised regularly. Note the photos in this article of Perodua's flagship showroom in Petaling Jaya.

Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad explained a bit more on what the company had done. He said, “We announce today that we have finally put in place the necessary safeguards at all our outlets nationwide to ensure that our valued customers and employees will be sufficiently protected in the light of the ongoing COVID-19 situation,” 

“Production in Sungai Choh began partially on 11 May and is now in full swing. We hope to fulfill demand as quickly as possible,” he added regarding to their vehicle production which had also stopped due to the MCO closure.

As regards those that are still waiting for their cars to be delivered, Dato' Zainal said, “We thank our valued customers for their patience and loyalty. We will ensure that all your motoring needs will be met as soon and as safely as possible,”

Please also note that as part of the new SOP, customers looking to service their vehicles are required to secure an appointment slot beforehand with their service centre of choice – walk-ins will not be accepted at present to avoid crowding.
