Volkswagen officially previews the updated Polo Hatch at the Raya Sales Carnival at Setia City Mall

This continues on the previous posting on the Volkswagen Raya Sales Carnival but more empahsis on the refreshed Polo 1.6 hatch. As a recap, the sales carnical is now on at Setia City Mall this weekend and you get to see the cars Volkswagen Malaysia are pushing with their 0 Downpayment and 0 interest campaign  (Polo, Polo Sedan, Jetta, Golf, Passat, and Tiguan).

What was interesting is that they have Officially previewed the slightly refreshed Polo 1.6 hatch. The car was introduced into dealerships early May 2015. This updated version features cosmetic changes including a classy single upper grille chrome line, sleeker design changes for the lights, increased safety with reflectors on the rear bumper and a horizontal mesh with a lower grille single chrome line on the cars exterior.

In addition to all of this, the refreshed Polo has two more interior changes in the form of a silver line that compliments the centre console, as well as stylish, convenient and more comfortable design changes on the steering wheel and meter bezel.

It does look classier. And still is a good choice for anyone looking to buy a small hatchback to run around Having driven one, I have to state that if I were looking for a hatchback under RM90,000, I would actually choose this over most others. Why? It's simple robust and torquey non-TSI 1.6 liter engine, traditional torque convertor 6 speed automatic compared to its larger siblings mentioned herein. It also has that German roadholding and surefootedness. Any German car is meant to cruise at high speeds comfortably due to its derestricted (at some stretches) Autobahn highway system. Even this little basic Polo has that traits.

It is also well put together, quite spacious and easy to drive. I actually like its simple and down to earth nature. With that comes ease of maintenance which I am quite particular about when it comes to long term ownership.

So the VW Polo 1.6 gets my vote, hatch and sedan. Boy, I sound like a Volkswagen saleman. But only with this model folks. Only with this model.
