New Chevrolet Cruze to be previewed and launched soon

....but not here yet lah. Over in America first. Chevrolet will launch an updated Cruze for the 2015 model year at the upcoming New York Motor Show. You get the three part grille / bumper that follows the big designed for America Chevrolet Impala - implying more common styling and a more Americanised feel to the car instead of something from Korea. The headlights are also revised and there are LED daytime running lights are fitted to higher-spec Cruze models.

Inside, Chevrolet has given the Cruze more connectivity and gizmos. The US spec (where it will be sold first) features a seven-inch color touchscreen, voice recognition and a 4G LTE wireless connection with  wi-fi hotspot. Enhanced Bluetooth integration features text message alerts. The updated Cruze will also offer Apple’s Siri Eyes Free, for full voice control of a connected iPhone. Chevrolet also has an App Store over in the States that allows owners to download weather, news, travel, and other information.

There will be two petrol engines - a 1.8-litre and a turbocharged four-cylinder in-line 1.4-litre unit - as well as a 2.0-litre diesel engine carry over in the US market. The car is scheduled to be sold over there in the states by the end of this year. For Malaysia I predict this face lift to be sold sometime early next year at the latest. I wonder if we would get the turbocharged 1.4liter instead of just the 1.8liter normaly aspirated engine (as we do now). Now that would be quite unique.
