Proton e.MAS 5 compact EV Hatchback unveiled - Media preview shows stickered exterior and full interior only

Proton has unveiled the e.MAS 5 to the media to view. I happened to be one of the lucky few that were free on the days that they had allocated and this is their latest B segment compact hatchback. As it wears the e.MAS badge, it is an electric vehicle. The e.Mas 5 is a compact hatchback and is rear motor, rear wheel driven and based on a Geely Geome which has sold over 200,000 units over in China. So Proton has decided to show us the pre-production car, albeit in stickered form ahead of its, no idea when, but they said by the end of the year, launch.

PROTON MISI 5 Tour will show off the soon-to-be launched Proton e.MAS 5 throughout Malaysia - From this weekend till early October 2025 at over 29 cities and towns nationwide

Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET), a subsidiary of PROTON, has announced the  MISI 5 Tour, a nationwide tour to preview the Proton e.MAS 5, the second car in the e.MAS lineup after the e.MAS 7. This could be a very anticipated entry-level Electric Vehicle and, is set to be shown across five major regions of Malaysia beginning from August to October 2025. Basically Proton are previewing the e.MAS 5 ahead of its official launch which is yet to be confirmed so that those who want a sub RM100,000 Battery EV or B segment hatchback would keep their options open and wait until this car is launched.

So, we will be hearing a lot about this small car until then. The tour will cover 29 cities and towns in 13 states and will be ongoing until the 5th of October 2025. So, with that, I can expect that the media will get a preview somewhere between now until the 5th of October, and then an official bookings bit of news after that and then the official launch, hopefully by the end of October or early November from the way things are scheduled. But don't quote me on this, just a hunch.
