Good day peeps. We have a new video out on our driving experience testing out the new 2025/26 Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV and Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV. These hybrid SUV models were launched in October of this year and are the latest variants of the popular Tiggo mid sized SUVs here. These are plug in hybrids so you can drive it for about 80km or so on full electric mode and it also has an estimated combined range of around 1,200km. So if you don't like refueling, this is the cars for you.
Chery Malaysia had on the 3rd of October 2025 launched its Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs): the TIGGO 7 PHEV and TIGGO 8 PHEV SUVs The Tiggo 7 PHEV will be priced at RM129,800 on the road before insurance while the TIGGO 8 PHEV is priced at RM159.800 before insurance and both are fully decked out in terms of its specification and equipment levels, with some slight differences.
While the TIGGO 8 is essentially a 7 seater TIGGO 7 (which is a 5 seater), there are enough equipment differences between the models. The price difference is because of the differences in equipment, slightly upgraded features as well as the extra length in the TIGGO 8. So there was a balance of equipment and specifications in both models that Chery Malaysia needed to do to sell at the price point they chose for the models.
