Facelifted Perodua Myvi launched - Some bits and thoughts about it.

Perodua has facelifted Malaysia's most popular car, the Perodua Myvi for 2015. And in my opinion its going to keep selling by the bucketloads. I am not going to blurb much about the car in every tiny detail. That would be left to other websites and publications. I'll just touch on what I think are the good points and left you with that.

Anyway, the changes to the exterior make it more in line with Perodua's smaller town car the Alza. You get the Myvi in Standard G, Premium X, SE and Advance forms in the same 1.3liter 4 cylinder engines for the first two variants and the 1.5liter 4 cylinder engine for the SE and Advance variants.Different bumpers front and back for all models with the SE and Advance having a more aggressive type of styling on them. Basically same formula untouched and refreshed so that people feel it is something new to purchase.

On the equipment area I do think that the new car gives more. Parking sensors all round is a good thing and I like the multi-info display that is now situated in the middle of the speedometer. Oh, aside from the toys the facelifted Myvi comes with a minimum of two aigbags and more for the higher specced models. It makes the car get a 4 star ASEAN NCAP rating.

Ouch!

There are a total of six colours to choose from and prices are from RM41,500 to RM58,900 (RM61,100 in most parts of Sabah though).

It should drive the same though, but the added equipment make the Myvi an obviously logical buy with its very affordable price, Toyota/Daihatsu/Perodua build quality, space and equipment levels. It is never the best in terms of ride or handling or being the ultimate in small car refinement (Buy a Suzy Swift or a VW  Polo for that). Being a Toyota derived car it does these things averagely well. Nothing extra ordinary, but it gets its job done. But this is what most want in a car. So it'll sell in the usual high numbers.
