The BMW M3 is 30 years old this year and its reputation today is totally peerless when it comes to the mid-sized sports car segment. In the mid 1980s, the very first M3 were homologated for the German Touring Car Championships and it won a whole lot of races obviously. It was this first M3, based on the BMW E30 3 Series that started it all. So much so that everyone wanted a E30 M3 back in the day.
