Airbus ACH160 Helicopter Keeps Pace with A Renault F1 Car (VIDEO)

Hello folks! This is motoring/motorsports related as well as aviation related. Check out this chase scene between an Airbus Corporate Helicopters' ACH160 helicopter and Renault F1 Team at the Circuit Paul Richard race track at Le Castellet. The chase illustrates the perfect coming together of design, precision, innovation and agility as car and rotorcraft, i.e helicopter, follow the flow of the circuit's blue lines. You can check out both the Renualt F1's as well as the ACH160's 'racing' lines as they both navigate through the circuit.

The ACH160 is the premium version of the H160 helicopter, which is the most technologically advanced helicopter in its class. According to Airbus, they will be delivering the first ACH160 in this region sometime in 2021. Yup, helicopter business is kinda going on compared to their passenger airplanes which has slowed to the speeds of a snail due to the pandemic.

The H160 was granted its type certification by EASA in July 2020, with FAA certification to follow later this year. It is one of the most environmentally friendly helicopters with respect to fuel consumption, and one of the quietest helicopters of its class. It does not need to use the Malaysian B20 Biodiesel so no worries about the fear of extra service intervals needed on diesel powered cars, trucks or buses here.

The helicopter also integrates Airbus Helicopters' latest technological innovations, including breakthrough safety features with Helionix's accrued pilot assistance and automated features as well as flight envelope protection. The helicopter also provides passengers with superior comfort thanks to the sound-reducing Blue Edge blades and superb external visibility that benefits both passengers and pilots. Much appreciated as the engine(s) and rotor blade of a helicopter could be just a few metres behind the passengers inside one.

The design of the H160 makes it suitable for a wide range of versatile missions, such as private and business aviation, offshore transportation, emergency medical service. The H160 is the successor of the famed Eurocopter (what Airbus Helicopters was previously called) Dauphin. If you are plane-spotter, you would know that the Dauphin is actually quite a familiar sight here in Malaysia. Quite a few companies and agencies actually operate this model here, including the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (the Malaysian Coast Guard).

Anyway, watch the video. Sometime different yet similar.
