As always, the star of their booth, which is the first stand you see as you enter the exhibition hall in MIECC, is the MAN TGS Prime Mover. To date, Malaysia’s best-selling EURO V specification Truck, is available here in two variants – 6x4 and 6x2 ADR (Accord Dangereux Routier or European regulations for Dangerous Goods specification). The latest MAN TGS is even more robust, further enhanced with better aerodynamics and equipped with a higher level of safety features. Suitable for those carrying flamable goods like in the oil and gas industry.
Also on display will be the MAN RR5 Bus/Coach chassis, which now comes with a EURO V-specification engine as standard. This proven chassis from MAN is the ideal solution for intercity transport providers due to its proven fuel efficiency, low maintenance, total durability and reliability; and now, sustainability. Enhanced with a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), it offers optimum safety to the driver, passengers and other road users. This is quite unique as it also has the option to fit addition rear wheel steering if opted by the operators and would make operating the over 12 meter (offered to slight over 13 metres here) bus in tighter spaces.
Making its official debut in Malaysia is the versatile daily transport solution, the MAN TGE Van. One of the best-selling vans in Europe, the MAN TGE is set to win over new market segments when launched in the future. Powered by a fuel-efficient and low-emission 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine, the MAN TGE is easily customisable. It is available as a Panel Van, Chassis Cab, Crew Cab, Combi Van or Mini Bus.
They brought in the caravan variant with a local camper van partner. Fully kitted out, it is quite a nice looking and practical van for those interested in the more outdoorsy kind of lifestyle. Of course, this is just a preview for its versatility. You can see a video of it here,
Continuing their efforts in improving MAN's presence here in Malaysia, Mr. O’Brooks said that MAN Malaysia has also proactively ramped up its aftersales support to help fleet owners manage and mitigate the effects of rising costs this year.
In a move to provide flexibility to transporters so that they can maximise the uptime of their MAN vehicles, the company announced that its Shah Alam service centre has extended its operation hours to an impressive 18 hours from 8.30 am to 2.30 am the next day from Monday to Friday.
The addition of a late shift until 2.30 am would provide unprecedented flexibility to fleet owners. They can now have the option of scheduling maintenance and repair of their vehicles at night so that they can be on the road during the day. The flexibility and added hours would definitely help especially in an emergency. I believe this is definitely a very positive move that competitors will take notice.
Customer comforts are also there at the centre. Just as a reminder, the folks at MAN also state that drivers can rest in comfort at the customer lounge’s recliner sofas and have access to shower facilities and refreshments while waiting for their vehicles to be ready. Appointments can be made through the MAN Malaysia website’s online booking service at www.man.com.my.
As for spare parts, MAN Malaysia is also stepping up the promotion of its value-for-money MAN Genuine Parts Ecoline range. These high-quality, remanufactured parts for older MAN Trucks offer savings of up to 40% without compromising on performance.
“We are meeting the needs of the market here in Malaysia with these initiatives. At MAN Malaysia, we are focused not only in selling great Trucks and Buses. We want to help businesses power ahead with confidence, knowing that we always have their backs,” added O’Brooks.
At the three-day event, MAN Malaysia will also be displaying and selling a comprehensive range of genuine MAN parts and lifestyle accessories at special prices. Find out more about how MAN’s range of Trucks, Buses and Vans can help power your business profitably ahead at Booth PS01 at MCVE 2024. MCVE 2024 is on from 9-11 May 2024.
