Lamborghini Urus SE: The World’s First Plug-in Hybrid Super SUV debuts in Malaysia

Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur launched the Lamborghini Urus SE in Malaysia yesterday and I was one of the guys lucky enough to view it at its debut here at the Sentul Depot, in Kuala Lumpur. The Urus SE is the first hybrid plug-in version of what is the Lamborghini Super SUV and it is a historic milestone for Automobili Lamborghini. The hyper hybrid SUV has a new design with even more optimised aerodynamics, more on-board technology and an 800 CV or 789hp hybrid powertrain. It basically builds on the Urus S in terms of comfort, performance, efficiency, emissions and driving pleasure but adds that hybrid powertrain for some cleaner performance - an electric motor joins the 4.0liter V8 twin turbocharged engine. So this Urus can save some whales while still killing it in terms of looks, sound and performance.

The Lamborghini Revuelto High Performance Electrified Vehicle is now in Malaysia - Prices start at over RM2.5m

Automobili Lamborghini has launched the new Lamborghini Revuelto, the first super sports V12 hybrid plug-in HPEV (which is Lamborghini's short form for High-Performance Electrified Vehicle), in Malaysia. This beauty combines the power of a V12 engine with hybrid technology. The Revuelto makes a shift in Lamborghini's design to be more emissions friendly for the future but is also marks the brand's 60th anniversary. It is a special hypercar, one that replaces the already great Aventador which was the brand's previous production V12 model.

Sunday Car Porn: Mini Superleggera Vision Concept and the Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato

I know this is a bit late as almost all the websites have published this bit of news. The car, touted as BMW Mini's challenge to the Mazda MX-5 is indeed a stunner. It brings back a look from an era that has long gone - the 1960s. Small roadsters as well as gorgeous looking coupes existed back then. Think Lotus Elan, Aston Martin DB5 (which is by Touring Superleggera and you can see the similarity in its DNA too) and the Jaguar E-type to name a few. Super glamorous. And if Mini does make it its flagship model, it could possibly be the most gorgeous small roadster/coupe on sale which you can buy.

Lamborghini launches the Gallardo replacement - Lamborghini Huracan

Lamborghini has made it official. The Gallardo replacement is the Huracán. It is named after another fighting bull, this time some fighting bull called Huracán who was of the Spanish Conte de la Patilla breed was known for his outstanding courage and strong sense of attack. He fought in Alicante in August 1879, showing his unrelenting character and remaining defiant and invincible, thus entering into the legend of fighting bulls’ history. So this Huracan is a good hundred over years over the original animal. Whatever that means.

It looks like what a small Lamborghini should look like. No surprises here as it builds on what the Gallardo looked like and added some of the latest Lamborghini styling cues from the Veneno and Aventador. I believe that the design doesn't bring anything surprising, but this IS entry level Lamborghini anyway.

Three Lamborghini Supercars collide and burn in Malaysia. There is a lesson here to learn you know.

This morning saw three Singaporean registered Lamborghini supercars bite the dust on the North-South Highway here in Malaysia. According to reports all drivers and passengers were unhurt with the exception of their wallets and egos. The drivers of these cars will be forever known to their friends, families, enemies and acquaintances as the Three Stooges who crashed their expensive cars into one another. And Singapore is a small island, word would get around. An ultimate ego-buster right?

According to reports the first car lost control, hit the road divider and the two other Lamborghinis collided into it. Something like a Keystone cops chase scene except this was basically done by people who somehow forgot that driving too closely at higher than normal speeds could do this to them. So if you happen to drive or own superfast cars, do drive safely, smartly and carefully.

And that's all I have to say about it.

Lamborghini Veneno Roadster

This was recently unveiled by Lamborghini - the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster. It is basically the roofless version of the Lamborghini Veneno. Limited to nine units, the Veneno Roadster will cost 3.3 million Euros excluding taxes. Lucky they limited it to nine units as what you're really getting is a very tarted up Lamborghini Aventador chassis with new panels designed by someone from HotWheels or a ten year old kid, or a collaboration of both. But, it looks bloody stunning from certain angles. And bloody grotesque from others too. I also think that it is nicer looking than the original Veneno but still opinion dividing.

Which is why I've decided to do a short write-up on it in here. Of course, all nine are most probably sold out even as the official press release was issued on the 19th of October 2013. Carbon fibre everywhere. Over the top styling. V12 engined, 2.9seconds to 100km/h. 221 miles per hour.

Lamborghini Aventador J pictures - Hot from Lamborghini's press people

The ultimate toy and new wall poster for 12 year old kids everywhere. This is my opinion of the new Lamborghini Aventador J concept car. It has no roof, no windscreen. If you want to hit 300km/h in this 1,575kg 700hp roofless supercar you will need a helmet or spectacles that will not lift off that those speeds. While road legal,  it cannot be drive to the office (if you don't own the office building), or the market or any place that anyone can basically steal it. It is so single minded in its pursuit of ultimate performance that it is  basically a toy and nothing more. Lots of Arabs and Russian gangsters are going to love it if and when Lamborghini makes it.
