Volvo Car Malaysia Launches the Locally Assembled ES90 - Single variant priced at RM339,888 before insurance

Earlier today, at the Bamboo Hills, Kuala lumpur, Volvo Car Malaysia held the official launch of the Volvo ES90. This is Volvo’s first fully electric sedan and it is assembled locally in Shah Alamm Selangor and is packed with innovative features as well as a very, very decent 651km range (WLTP rating). There will be one variant initially and will priced at RM339,888 before any insurance. However, there is an early bird 2% rebate for the first 100 bookings made until 31st of March 2026. It is now available for viewing at all authorised Volvo Car dealerships in Malaysia

Gerimis Baiduri Sdn Bhd takes delivery of 5 UD Kuzer light duty trucks

Gerimis Baiduri Sdn Bhd (Gerimis Baiduri), a Malaysian logistics provider for the frozen and chill industry, has taken delivery of five units of UD Trucks’New Kuzer light-duty model from LK Utara Sdn Bhd (LK Utara), a dealer of Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE), the authorized and sole distributor for UD Trucks in Malaysia. SO this is 'easy mode; GR. Well, not really. TQ WULING Bingo EV Officially Launched in Malaysia - Two Locally Assembled Variants Starting from RM67,800 onwards

TQ WULING has launchedt he Wuling Bingo EV. This new battery electric EV is available in two variants, offering a driving range of up to 410 km (CLTC) on a single charge which is for the top variant (WLTP should be about 23% less give or take which is still a reasonable range). With the launch, this is currently the most affordable B segment EV around, as with the early bird rebates, are even cheaper than a Proton eMAS 5.

This a battery electric vehicle (BEV) SUV which is a C segment SUV which Leapmotor says is poised to set a new benchmark for accessible innovation and sustainable mobility for Malaysians. Malaysia will have it in two variants - the B10 Life at RM107,800 (361KM WLTP range) and the B10 Design at RM118,800 (434km WLTP range), both prices before any insurance.

Volkswagen Malaysia Launches the New Golf R-Line and New Golf GTI Mk8.5

These models, from what most enthusiasts know as the refreshed Mk8.5 Golfs, are the New Golf R-Line, introduced witha new 1.5 eTSI MHEV engine replacing the previous 1.4 TSI variant, and a new Golf GTI offers more power with additional 20PS. 

Proton eMAS 5 launched - This could be the game changing vehicle that brings EV to the Malaysian masses

Last week,  PROTON launched the Proton e.MAS 5, which is the cheapest brand new EV on sale in Malaysia to date. This could be the catalyst for the EV market here in Malaysia as it brings affordability coming in from RM59,800 for the Prime and RM72,800 before any insurance for the loaded Premium variant. With it, brings affordability to the EV market and with anything, especially when after all the first adopters have bought their EVs, comes this second wave to try capture the sceptics and those first adopters with shallower pockets. As on a personal note, I believe the first adopters buying new energy vehicles over RM100,000 is now on a decline.
