Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and Malaysia Aviation Group work to enhance luxury vehicle services for Malaysia Airlines' Private Terminal Transfer which includes the use of the S580 e PHEV and EQS 500 4Matic EV cars

Today was the official launch of a strategic collaboration between Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and Malaysia Aviation Group ( the people who manage Malaysia Airlines - MAS) where the parties have entered into an arrangement to enhance luxury services, particularly the Malaysia Airlines Private Terminal Transfer Service at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has agrred to provide a fleet of its flagship models, which includes the S 580 e Plug-in Hybrid and all-electric EQS 500 4MATIC for Malaysia Airlines' Private Terminal Transfer Service.

The new locally assembled Mercedes-Benz GLC 350 e 4MATIC is now available - Priced at RM398,888 OTR before insurance

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has introduced the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant, the GLC 350 e 4MATIC.which is assembled here in Pekan, Pahang, The new PHEV GLC was unveiled during the Malaysian launch of the new W214 E-Class sedan. The new variant of the GLC is a model that adds  to the GLC SUV range here and combines electrified efficiency with uncompromised performance. It is now available at RM 398,888 inclusive of 10% Sales Tax (for Peninsular Malaysia), which seems to be quite a nice figure as it is still under the RM400K threshold. More than that for a C-Class variant of the Mercedes-Benz SUV and it would be quite hard to swallow for a C-Class I figure. MBM must feel the same too to price it as such.

The new E-Class gets its Malaysian launch - Locally assembled E200 and E350e Plug in Hybrids offered

 

The car favoured by many Malaysian businessmen has been improved. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched the latest and feature packed E-Class sedan here. The variants of the new E-Class official sold here are locally assembled and are the Mercedes-Benz E 200 and Mercedes-Benz E 350 e plug-in hybrid..This continues the E-Class legacy here as for over 75 years, the model has actually been the standard for what is the epitome of a mid-range luxury sedan. Can't call it mid-sized, as the current range of E-Classes are large sized cars these days you know.

Of course, being a Mercedes-Benz, the luxury sedan is laden with technology and the latest in equipment. This time, even the infotainment system get an upgrade. The new E-Class is touted as the most advanced business sedan with its artificial intelligence (AI) learning capabilities via “routines” making everyday tasks easier by learning and automating frequently used comfort systems. The new E-Class ups the connectivity needs with 5G and video conferencing, and also offers third-party app compatibility for video streaming, gaming, and internet browsing, ensuring constant connection and entertainment. 

The Mercedes-Benz E 200 is fitted with a mild hybrid system which delivers an additional 17 kW of power and up to 205 Nm of torque boost to the 2.0liter 204hp 320Nm turbocharged petrol engine, As for the range topping plug-in hybrid, the E 350 e is capable of achieving a fully electric drive of up to 118 km (WLTP).  It gets the same 2.0liter engine but gets a 95kW motor and 440Nm torque. You then add the 204Hp to the 95kW you get about 320hp in total meaning the E350 e is fast - 0-100kmh in 6.4seconds with a top speed of 236kmh (note that the E200 can do 0-100kmh in 7.3seconds but has a maximum speed of 240kmh, so there)

An event for Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts is around this weekend. The Mercedes-Benz World! event is on at KL Base Sungai Bezi from tomorrow, 5th July to the 7th of July 2024 from 10am to 6 pm. There, you can view the current  Mercedes-Benz line up of over 30 models from all segments. There are also test drives and other interesting stuff to do. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia earlier today announced the availability of the new 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 4MATIC in AMG-Line form.. The GLA-Class is the entry point into the Mercedes-Benz SUV family, and the new locally-assembled GLA 250 4MATIC brings some tweaks to this year's variant. The GLA 250 now features 4MATIC variable all-wheel drive with torque-on-demand system  is now available at the Mercedes-Benz Store or at their retail showrooms with the price of RM 295,888 inclusive of 10% Sales Tax (for Peninsular Malaysia).

Earlier today, I attended Mercedes-Benz Malaysia preview of four new higher end of their range vehicles at its Luxury Showcase event held at NZ Wheels in the upper scale Bangsar/Telawi area. The Dream Cars showcase is actually on from the 3 rd to 7 th of April 2024 at NZ Wheels Bangsar. Yesterday, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia unveiled the latest variant of the best-selling Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan for the Malaysian market. This one is the new range topper here, the 2024 (W206) Mercedes-Benz C350e Plug-in Hybrid with the AMG-Line trim. The new luxury compact sedan is locally assembled at the Mercedes-Benz production plant in Pekan, Pahang. The C 350 e Plug-in Hybrid combines a 95kw electric motor with a traditional 2.0liter petrol engine for enhanced efficiency. It replaces the previous range topper, the conventional petrol powered C300 AMG line, and is estimated to come in at around RM355,000 before any insurance. 

The upgraded for 2024 locally assembled Mercedes-Benz GLA 200 is now available

Meanwhile, just after the other German luxury brand announced their latest bit of news,  Mercedes-Benz Malaysia have unveiled the new upgraded 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLA 200. The sporty compact SUV which is the entry point into Mercedes-Benz SUVs now come with some extra enhancements for the new year, notably a redesigned front and rear end and the latest MBUX information and entertainment system. The GLA 200 is locally assembled in Malaysia and comes in at RM258,888 before insurance.

Earlier today, at the Mercedes-Benz Autohaus in Mutiara Damansara, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia unveiled the all-new full sized, all-electric luxury SUV variant, the 2023/24 Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC SUV. The EQS SUV essentially is the fully electric GLS, or S-Class SUV that will offer seating for seven people in luxurious comfort and also offers connectivity for front and rear passengers. At the moment, there is one variant officially available, the EQS 580 4MATIC which is priced at RM699,888 with 10% sales tax but without insurance (in Peninsular Malaysia).

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s Advanced Modern Apprenticeship (AMA) Program Celebrates The Graduation of 38 Apprentices And Welcomes Another Batch of New Apprentices

On the 27th September 2023, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia had announced the graduation of 38 apprentices from its Advanced Modern Apprenticeship (AMA) Program. Aside from this news where there are now 38 more certified technicians in Malaysia, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia had welcomed 42 apprentices for the year 2023. This is part of the brand's continuous development of human capital here in Malaysia.

Over the past three years, the graduating batch of 38 apprentices had undergone rigorous training, culminating in their certification as globally-recognised Mercedes-Benz technicians. These newly graduated professionals are set to join the Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Retail Network, which currently has over 1,000 Service Personnel. In addition, they will be offered job opportunities within the company;s Service Network for the subsequent four years. The investment per student over the three-year program is RM100,000.
