PRO-NET Showcases its EV Technologies and the Proton e.MAS EVs at GATE 2025 which is open to the public at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre 12-14 November 2025

 


Today, PROTON and PRO-NET is at the Global Automotive and Technology Expo (GATE) 2025. The event is held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur, from the 12 th to the 14 th of November 2025 and it open to the public , The three- day premier regional event aims to bring together industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to shape the future of electric mobility, autonomous systems, and sustainable transportation.

PROTON BAGS THE AUTOMOTIVE CATEGORY SILVER AWARD AT THE PUTRA BRAND AWARDS 2017



PROTON took home the Silver Award in the Automotive Category at the Putra Brand Awards 2017, held yesterday at the Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. This is the first win by PROTON since the Putra Brand Awards was first launched in 2010. Quite an achievement for the brand which seems to be only coming out of a tough streak recently.

Industry News: PROTON appoints a new CEO for Proton Edar

Proton has appointed the dapper looking chap in the photograph above as the new CEO of its sales and marketing arm, Proton Edar Sdn Bhd. Mr Abdul Rashid Musa replaces outgoing CEO Mr Rohime Shafie effective 1st of February 2017. Prior to this appointment, he was the Chief Technical Officer of PROTON where he held several portfolios, including being instrumental in the development of the four new models in 2016 (the Perdana, Persona, Saga and Ertiga).

PROTON RECEIVES ACCREDITATION AS A CENTRE FOR NATIONAL DUAL TRAINING SYSTEM (SLDN) FOR SKILLS TRAINING

Sometime before the Chinese New Year, Proton received accreditation by the Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia as well as from the Department of Skills Development, Malaysia as a centre for the National Dual Training System programme conducted by the Government of Malaysia.

PROTON PERSONA PREMIUM CVT & PROTON PERDANA 2.4 BAG SOME AWARDS AT THE FIRST EVER CARSIFU AWARDS


Recently,  PROTON, the national car company managed to bag a couple of awards at the first ever Carsifu Editor's Choice Awards 2016. The very recently launched All-New, Persona Premium CVT (the mid-specced car)  had won Best Compact Car and the also freshly launched All-New Proton Perdana 2.4 won Best Local Design of the Year at the inaugural CarSifu Editors’ Choice Awards 2016. Congratulations to Proton cars is in order.

An Update on the all-new Proton Persona - The media drive, CSR initiative in Jengka 19, Persona Sales figures and other aspects on the car

Last 19th and 20th of September members of the Media went on the Proton Persona Media drive. The entourage was flagged off from the Proton Centre of Excellence, Subang Jaya and there were 60 participants from the media and also from PROTON's Senior Management and staff. This 2 days 1 night event was basically a drive to  Kuantan, Pahang and back to Subang Jaya.

INDUSTRY NEWS: Proton Cars and their Proton Preve gets launched in Chile



A few months ago when Tun Dr Mahathir was still Chairman of Proton he and the then CEO flagged off a cargo of Proton Preve cars that were destined for Chile. I was there at that historic (for Proton) event. Now, months later we now receive news of the official launch (and re-launch) of Proton Cars in Chile and the Proton Preve being the first model to be sold over there since 1998.

PROTON ANNOUNCES SERVICE FIX IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES FOR ITS TURBOCHARGED ENGINE MODELS

The Press Release below is the official statement by PROTON cars on the recall of its turbocharged engine models. PROTON has taken precautionary step to provide a Service Fix on the Oil Cooler Hose in all its turbo-charged powered models. The models involve are the Proton Exora, Suprima S and Prevé. This initiative is undertaken as part of our brand new promise and our continuous commitment in engaging with the customers.

As expected, Proton car prices will see a marginal increase of RM312 to a maximum of RM2,021 depending on model variants, effective 15 February 2016. This comes after an earlier announcement at the end of last year that they would do so.

Proton's "It's In The Drive" Campaign - Test Drive & Win a Suprima S and other prizes


Alright folks. Proton Edar Sdn Bhd, distributor of Proton cars have launched their latest sales campaign. The 'It's in the drive' campaign begins today until the 31st of March 2016. 

This is a roadshow and also a test drive campaign. Malaysians with a valid IC and driving license are eligible to participate in the “Test Drive & Win” contest. This contest will be divided into two eligibility criteria. Customers can head over to any PROTON showrooms nationwide and test drive any Proton models, fill in the test drive form, answer several simple questions and participants will then stand a chance to win a weekly prize. To be eligible to win the Grand Prize, customers who have successfully booked their car during this campaign can stand a chance to win the Suprima S.Selected winners for the contest will have a chance to win weekly prizes which include a 42” LCD TV, electronic gadgets such as mobile phones and iPad minis worth about RM150,000 in total. At the end of the contest, a selected winner will win the Proton Suprima S premium variant for the grand prize.

PROTON Edar is carrying out its Chinese New Year promotion for after sales services packages.


Proton have announced their SAFETY PROMOTION for after sales service packages at all their service centers in anticipation of the upcoming Chinese New Year Festive celebrations. This includes a FREE 30 point Inspection at all their authorised service centers, 20% off on selected spare parts for all Proton cars and special fixed price service package for out of warranty cars.

The promotion is ongoing and will run to 31st March 2016.

PROTON MAY RAISE PRICES OF ITS CARS IN 2016 DUE TO WEAK RINGGIT

Proton may increase the prices of its cars by January 2016 due to the weakening Ringgit. Now whilst Proton has up to 90% local content for most of its cars, most of the raw material is still imported. Anything made out of steel and aluminium has its raw material imported in as Malaysia does not have enough of these resources locally. So even Proton is affected by the underperforming Ringgit.
